I HAVE BEEN BORROWING MY NEIGHBORS AUGER FOR OVER FOUR YRARS, UNABLE TO FIND MY OWN. THEN WHEN SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING ELSE AT AMAZON I FOUND THE AUGER. THIS ITEM MAKES FOR MINIMAL EFFORT PLANTING ANY SMALL PLANTS OR SAPLING TREES WHEN COUPLED WITH MY CORDLESS DRILL. A LADY OR EVEN A TEEN CAN EFFECTIVELY PLANT IN MOST ANY SOIL USING THE AUGER.

I found this auger to be appropiate and OK quality.
However the price seems a little to steep for what I got.
It worked well for it's intended purpose.

I planted several hundred bulbs with this. Only setback was the price, and that sometimes, it would slip off the power drill especially after the blade encountered roots or the soil is tough (that it would have difficulty rotating while the power drill still would rotate). So from time to time when it becomes loose I have to stop and re-insert it to the power drill.

My husband planted over 3000 bulbs with this this last fall. Couldn't have done it without it!

This tool performed very well. It significantly decreased the time needed to plant bulbs. We planted nearly 300 bulbs in just a couple of hours. It even works in rocky soil!

I use this with a battery powered drill to plant dafodill bulbs. Planted about two hundred yesterday. It is one of my favorite and most useful tools.

My wife and I have a second home in Pennsylvania and last weekend we drove up to plant some bulbs. This was the first opportunity I have had to use this tool and I can tell you, it works WONDERFULLY. This is more than a bulb planter, think of it as a hand held tiller. I used it to open up the soil (admittedly the soil wasn't in horrible condition) for a solid 25 feet using a corded drill. It spit up the large rocks and broke up the smaller ones.
I do have two small complaints however (nothing is perfect after all).
1. I would love it if the shaft was squared off instead of being round, as this would give the drill better grip. I did have to re-tighten the drill chuck a couple of times (this could be due to the fact that my drill doesn't use a chuck key, but is hand tightened). This is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
2. I would love if they made a longer version of this, it would help save my poor knees. LOL
All in all, this is a very good product.

Really pleased with this auger. A little pricey for what it is but very robust and well built. Could be a little sharper.
All in all, a great product and as planning to plant a few thousand daffodils, this will speed things up a lot!

I was able to put down 180 grass plugs in about an hour with very little physical effort, with this Auger Bit attached to a portable hand drill. My wife followed behind with the tray of plugs, each plug perfectly filling the hole that me and Auger had made. I think she may have had the harder job, but, I know I had more fun.

Great for planting large numbers of daffodils, but would work better if the shaft was flattened on one side to keep it from spinning out of the chuck every time a rock was hit.
