I absolutely love this product! It is the only sugar free drink I can stomach. So I was obviously shocked and saddened to learn about Sugar-Free Tang being discontinued. On one of my last orders, the top of the containers said "Same Great Taste, Different Name. Crystal Light. Coming Soon". However when I wrote to Kraft to inquire about this, all I got in return was this letter...

Thank you for visiting Kraft and for your interest in TANG Sugar Free Breakfast Beverage Crystals Orange .

It's great to hear from consumers who are looking for our products because it lets us know how much you enjoy them. The tough part comes when we have to share the news that the product you're trying to find has been discontinued.

If products don't seem to be popular with our consumers, and demand starts to drop, a decision is made to discontinue the item. Once this decision is made, we stop making the product and the remaining supply is shipped from our warehouse to the grocery stores.

At this time there are no plans to bring back our discontinued products, but we are always cooking up something new to help you live and eat better so you may discover a new favorite!

Again, thanks for contacting us, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy our products.

i have been having tang pangs ever since kraft changed tang to the artificially sweetened "fruitition" version. but it appears kraft was listening...or their pocketbook was :). the "Great NEW Taste" 20 ounce size that i bout at Ralphs was sweetened only with SUGAR!. Ingredients: sugar, citric acid, natural and artificial flavor, ascorbic acid, maltodextrin, calcium phosphate, xanthan gums, socium acid pyrophosphate, artificial color, yellow 5, yellow 6, BHA. If amazon confirms that their product conforms to this "new" artificial sweetener free version i am sure they will sell a lot more. P.S. for those tang fans like myself that have been waiting for a sugar only version. i think this version is a little sweeter...like the ones they sell in the phillipines and hispanic countries but it is quite satisfying to those of us that have been missing the "original". Thanks Kraft for listening.

Often times you don't get what you hoped for. In the case of my ordering the large TANG containers I got the TANG that doesn't have nutrasweet or aspartame in it, just that citris that gives it that special zing. I love the original TANG and this comes the closest to it. Great for food prepping storage. This is my second order and I love it!

Update: Tang went back to sugar!

Old review preserved for historic reasons (even though I was ranting pretty hard when I wrote that), but I'll add: I like to add table salt and Pickle Crisp (calcium chloride is also lost in sweat) for cycling purposes. Potassium and magnesium are also lost but I get those in other things (eg bananas).

Use this stuff for cycling. It's hard to explain, but when you've burnt 5,000 calories in a day sweating under the hot sun, strange things sound good, and to a lot of cyclists, some nice strong Tang sounds really, really good. Sure, there's Gatorade mix and Naan, but a strong orangy citrus punch packs killer refreshment. But... what the hell!?! Artificially sweetened? That's not good for cycling *or* for kids. What's with the obsession with trying to turn every drink into "Shasta"? We hate Shasta. We're not skinny blonde bimbos trying to look cool on the beach and hook up with Mr. Moneybags. If the market has spoken and people have declared they wanted anything, it's good, old fashioned sugar. Not HFCS. Not sucralose. Not Nutrasweet. Not friggin' Sacrin. Sugar.

Sugar Free Tang is not just for kids and the sodium-free, sugar-free GREAT and UNIQUE flavor of this product is not replacable with the SUGAR-FILLED original Tang.
This is a healthy ADULT beverage and great for families, too...we need this back in the marketplace and SOON...I just ran out of what we had in our pantry. What's wrong with the marketing department at Kraft? Kraft needs to wake up to REAL HEALTHY...Sugar Free Tang was such a healthy thing to have around and a huge hit as a "secret ingredient" especially in summertime beverages, but also just great to have. No carbs. Great antioxidant C and great taste. BRING IT BACK!! It is impossible to trade this for anything else.

I ran out of Tang this morning and went to the store to stock up. Making a cup of hot Tang has always been a sheer delight and on this rainy afternoon came home with my newly purchased container and heated up the water. I did notice when I mixed it that it had a funny, thick consistency and color to it. One sip and I spit it out in the sink. I do not and cannot, because of allergies, drink anything with artificial sweetener. My husband and I have been drinking hot Tang for over 30 years. Now, to find Kraft is no longer manufacturing regular Tang is so upsetting. Not slit your throat upsetting, but close. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. BOO to Kraft!!! And to top it off there was no clear indication on the container that it had artificial sweetener in it. Another turned down thumb to Kraft. Now I have to make a trip to the store just to return it.
