2.0 out of 5 stars Itty bitty and smaller than expected.
Purchased as a stimulatory gift for my 5 year old autistic daughter. Due to the diminutive size of it I don't think it will provide much sensory feedback for her. In all honesty the picture makes it appear MUCH larger. The size also creates a choking hazard. Our daughter bites everything and if she breaks one of the links off it could easily be swallowed. I'm sure it...

i bought this product after using one that one of my students brought to school as a "busy" toy. this child has aspergers syndrome, and often had trouble finding something to do with his hands. he shared his tangle toy with me,and i found that after a while, i really felt a little less stressed. i have a trans atlantic flight coming up, and while i'm not afraid to fly, i do sometimes get anxious and annoyed with fellow passengers (sorry!). i bought the tangle relax therapy to help me "deal" with this. :0)

This is a great product to keep your hands busy, and to let some tension out.

My 5-year old son saw the Tangle jr at his elementary school. We looked at Walmart, Target, etc. for 4 months and never could find it. We finally ordered it off the internet. It's a very simple toy, but my son loves to fiddle with it while he is being read to or watching tv or sitting in the car.

I got this for my son to use at his desk as a fidget. It is really cool. All the links come apart and reattach easily. The materials are good quality too. The plastic is covered in multi textured rubber. It's a great little toy

In all honesty the picture makes it appear MUCH larger. The size also creates a choking hazard. Our daughter bites everything and if she breaks one of the links off it could easily be swallowed. I'm sure it serves it's purpose for other customers just not us. That is the reason for the low ranking on review so consider the source. It may be exactly what you are looking for.

I received this in the mail today and was surprised to see how small it is. The size doesn't bother me too much as far as my son playing with it but for what it does and the size together it should be much cheaper. It seems more like a party favor. The links are about the same width as an ink pen or pencil. I measured it at about 6 1/2" long fully attached and stretched as far as it would so it's pretty tiny. My 4yr old autistic son played with it for about 3 minutes and then he set it down somewhere and hopped back on his scooter. Maybe my 2 yr old will have more fun with it (supervised due to choke hazard). All in all, it's okay for a few seconds or minutes of fidgeting but that's about it. I also ordered the orginal Tangle which is much larger probably about +18" long fully attached but one of the pegs was broken straight out of the package so I have to return it. My son was a lot more interested in that one because he put this one down immediately when he saw me pull it out of the package.

I bought this for my daughter to fidget with- she is 8 and has ADHD. However, My 15 year old steals it whenever she can and uses it to keep her hands busy so she doesn't chew her nails. So I have to buy another one! Luckily it's inexpensive- so I don't mind.

It pops open- which I don't love- but it pops together pretty easily, so I can forgive that.

Otherwise- no complaints at all.

I heard about Tangle through a counselor I met at rehab. I've been in therapy for a long time, and always had a problem with anxiety and it came out with my hands wanting to fidget with things. I kept picking at my fingers, biting my nails, playing with my bracelets, etc. I bought Tangle hoping it would help, and it has! I bought two of these and it made a bigger one that is good for adults. I bring it with me to therapy because it helps my nervous energy be focused. Obviously this is a very specific situation Tangle helps, but it can be applied to a lot of situations. I've tried the other plain Tangle and it didn't help as much as this one because it is more textured. When I first opened it, it was "sticky" because of the rubber. It is rubber after all. But after using it a lot it lost its stickiness.

I recommend this product to anyone with fidgety handing like mine!!!

As a result of a broken wrist (from a nasty fall) I still have problems and thought this would be good for finger dexterity exercises (each section can rotate separately), as well as desensitization (there are little bumps on the surface). Not only is it good for those things, but it's just plain fun to play with! As soon as I took it out of the package I found myself fiddling with it; twisting it, folding it, rolling it between my fingers, etc. I took it to school where I work and didn't even realize I was using it while talking to my friends - it's almost hypnotic. :-) Our RSP teacher was very intrigued and is interested in using it in her classroom for some of the more "squirmy" students. Love this little thing!

I bought this for my 6-year-old son for Christmas and he doesn't seem to care about it but his 13-year-old brother couldn't put it down. They're both a little on the special-needs side with OCD and behavior issues. I also find the toy fascinating as a 40 year old mom.

It has bumps all over it for texture I guess, but it makes the toy kind of sticky to the touch, picking up dirt and hair anytime it's dropped or set down. Plus I just don't get it... it's not easy to play with in a way that makes you want to fidget with it at all. It's awkward and doesn't fit in your hand really, and it's not bendy enough to do much with. This one's just a fail.
