5.0 out of 5 stars Death on Naboo - Fantastic
Fantastic!

Jude Watson has again excelled herself with her latest book in the "Last of the Jedi Series: Death on Naboo". My eight year old son and I are avid Star Wars fans and have really enjoyed reading this book and the whole series so far, and are now eagerly waiting for the next edition (Book 5).

3.0 out of 5 stars SW Last of the Jedi, Book 5...
Pretty good SW EU series. Although it's a Scholastic book writtn with kids in minds, it's an easy read that puts you in the SW universe.

I'm looking forward to Book 6.

Fantastic!

Jude Watson has again excelled herself with her latest book in the "Last of the Jedi Series: Death on Naboo". My eight year old son and I are avid Star Wars fans and have really enjoyed reading this book and the whole series so far, and are now eagerly waiting for the next edition (Book 5).

Initially we were both disappointed when Obi-Wan faded into the background in Book 3 and it became obvious that the series would follow a different path. I personally felt there was some real chemistry between Ferus, Trevour and Obi-Wan that could have been pursued further. However, Watson has brought to life an array of splendid characters that can be quite amusing at times, and who we are now developing an affection for. Set within a story that incorporates moments of sadness, suspense, and adventure the only thing wrong with this book is that it is not long enough and it leaves you wanting more, especially the last Chapter.

My only criticism of the book, and of the other three in the series so far, is that they are not specific or consistent in terms of defining when this story, actually take place after Revenge of the Sith.

I feel the overall potential for this series is one that could equal or even surpass 'Quest' and 'Apprentice' in terms of its popularity and the extent to by which stories could be explored in the future. I know my son and his friends can't get enough of Star Wars, and that it is going to be a long wait till the fifth book is released. The good thing about Jude Watson is that she writes with a style that allows all Star Wars fans both young and old to enjoy a sense of adventure and escapism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, emotional and packed with action., May 14, 2006
OMG. I just finished reading book #4 - Death on Naboo ... I have no words to describe how AMAZING this instalment is.
This book is outstandingly gripping and you will see some characters from the PT movies.
I'm now conviced that Ferus Olin is a great Jedi - yes, he left the order before taking his trials, nonetheless, he proved to be a far better Jedi than Anakin. Ferus, without trainning, has showed what a real Jedi should be (compare of course to Anakin, not to the rest of the Jedi).

The plot of this book is about Padme's secret, that must be kept as it is at all costs.

The climax of this book, with an amazing flashback/deja-vu to a memorable SW moment (that I will not reveal ;)), will keep you gaping and gripping the book, like I did.

I strongly recommend all of you to read this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet again, a great book from Ms Watson., March 15, 2006
I have to say, I've been a fan of Jude Watson since I was 13, ever since I first started reading her Jedi Apprentice Series, I've been hooked. Though I am 20 now, these books still offer an amazingly rich story line of the love between master and apprentice. The Last of the Jedi series is a great addition. Death on Naboo is wonderful, it keeps you on your toes, not quite sure what might happen next. Ferus is now one of my favorite jedi, and Trever adds a heart to these books that were missing in the Jedi Quest series. I do suggest you read these books, and check out the Apprentice and Quest series as well, since it will make things in this series more understandable.

I can't say enought about this series, this book and this author. I love them all. I am officially a big fan of Jude Watson. The story of Ferus, Trevor and friends is awesome. I was disapointed at first that it was not following Obi-wan as I originally thought it would, but now I really like it. Star Wars fans young and old will like this book. Even though the release date says April, I found it at a book store last week. I recommend buying this book and the preceding books if you haven't already.

This book is a great edition to the Last of the Jedi series! I liked this one because we get to go to Naboo and see how the people there have adjusted to the Empire. Once again, this book had an ending that leaves you wondering what happens to Ferus, Trever and everyone else. I hope the next book answers some of the questions left by Death on Naboo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, March 31, 2006
That's the first word that came to mind when I finished Death on Naboo. Jude Watson is an amazing writer. She should write every Star Wars book. This one was filled with advanture, suspense, laughter and sadness. It begins with Ferus in prison knowing a Jedi he basically has a death sentence. Then we go to Naboo were Malorum is still investiaging Padme's death. More specifically whether or not Padme's child is alive. The scene between Malorum and Padme's grandmother was very good. Obi Wan of course told Ferus to keep an eye out for Malorum investigating Padme's death. He goes to Naboo to stop Malorum even though Ferus himself doesn't know he needs to stop Malorum. That's what makes Ferus so great. He trusts Obi Wan enough to risk his life even thought he doesn't know why. The very end when Ferus recieves a message on his comlink when only a very few can get in touch with him is chilling.

This review is from: A Tangled Web (Star Wars: Last of the Jedi #5 (Paperback)
Little old Ferus Olin's caught in a web, one of the Emperor's making. His mission: find the saboteur of Sath, a key city on Samaria, whose computer systems have been majorly hacked. Why would a former Jedi work for the Empire? Answer: coercion of the first degree. Some may cry spoiler, spoiler! Fear not, that's all neatly described in the first two pages, to find out how Ferus gets in and out of trouble yet again you'll have to actually read this lovely book.

Jude Watson's a master at telling action-packed stories that stand alone and stand in line. (I guess with 30 + books under your belt you've gotta be worth something:-) Excellent for newcomers or old timers as far as star wars EU goes.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked!!, August 11, 2006

Death on Naboo is full of detailed imagery and the characters are so real. I've been reading this series from the beginning and I am totally hooked!

In the beginning we see Ferus in prison trying to keep a positive attitude about escaping. With help from an old friend on the inside he does. Continuing his mission he ends up on Naboo, where a secret about Anakin and Padme must not end in Malorum's hands. In the end Ferus faces Malorum and finds soon after that he must face someone even more evil.

Ms. Watson has done an amazing job with the character development. She not only incorporates what they feel through words but, now we see how they are feeling through their thoughts. It makes the story so rich and its easy for the reader to be drawn into this book. Trust me, you're going to love this story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stays good, September 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is as consistently good as the others. Obi-wan is still there in the background; only mentioned, never seen. Boba has fallen to the wayside, for now anyway. Not even a mention. I think that is a good thing. I still haven't been sold on Boba being in the series. I mean, yeah, they needed someone to track them down and why not use a familiar helmet, but I think he is still a hair too inexperiened to have been able to track them as well as he does. My opinion only, agree or disagree if you like.
But the story is going in a good direction I think. The books are very well written and Jude Watson does a good job intertwining the plot lines together. Book five is awesome as well.
So, all in all, if you've enjoyed the series so far, you'll love this.
