Easy to set up and the way you rotate the clock through 90 degrees to access the different modes is a good idea. The construction is quite good but the clock lacks any kind of backlighting, making reading it in anything other than bright conditions difficult.
A worthwhile and unusual product though.

Not Eco-Friendly,

I bought this clock because I wanted something that wouldn't use electricity and would be eco-friendly. Sadly I was quite disappointed for several reasons, the main one being that the water-battery is NOT reusable and when it dies you have to buy a new one from the company website. Yes, you can refill the battery with water several times, but eventually the battery has to be replaced completely. I'm not sure how much it costs, because I'm refusing to buy one. My original battery lasted about 6 months. Other reasons why this clock is not eco-friendly:
1) The product is made of a non-recyclable plastic. 2) Battery has to be replaced periodically and the company offers no way to recycle your existing battery. 3) Replacement batteries must be shipped, which costs more money and uses more energy. If you really want a low-impact alarm clock I would get something solar powered, or a wind-up clock.

Fun and useful gift,
This review is from: Tango Group H2O Water Powered Multifunction Clock II (Electronics)
I received this clock as a gift over a year ago, and have used it primarily to monitor indoor temperature in an old condo that doesn't have central heating or a thermostat, although all the other functions work. The directions are simple and very clear. This would make a fun gift for a child or adult who will exercise a little care; for example, the battery contacts need to be kept dry to avoid corrosion.

throwaway novelty item,
This review is from: Tango Group H2O Water Powered Multifunction Clock II (Electronics)
This uses a small non-recyclable water-activated battery that lasts about a year (as advertised, anyway) and has to be re-ordered from the companys UK website:
[...] (The website listed in the instructions does not exist.) Minimum 2 batteries, and with shipping to the US may cost more than the clock. By comparison, clocks that use AA batteries often go longer, are fraction of the cost, and the batteries can be recycled. This basically makes this an expensive throwaway novelty item. As another reviewer implied, the Eco tag does not really apply.

Water powered battery- novel idea for the times!,

I won this clock in a raffle, and I am excited to finally try it out after years of just leaving it in the box, especially since I love eco-friendliness. However, after reading one of the reviews about how the plastic and batteries are non-recyclable, I am a bit disappointed. The clock seems more for show, and is a nice looking gift for showing off. I think the design is well thought out too. I really feel like I'm "in the water" so to speak. Also, when trying out my clock, it's supposed to have 3 or 4 different modes when turning it 90 degrees. Turning it 90 degrees whether on a flat surface or not has not changed the settings from clock to alarm or temperature for me. Maybe more instructions need to be provided or made clearer, or I could have a doozy. I do not want to spend too much time fussing around with settings I don't really need.

The clock was purchased as a gift and I do not know if it works or not. The shipping charges were high and it took a long time to arrive
