Melodic Piazzolla,

The rhythmic complexity of Piazzolla's music can hide the beautiful melodies within the music. William Wilson skillfully elevates these melodies into view without losing the essence of the rhythm of the music. The sound is mellow and easy to listen to. Wilson's incorporation of a bandoneón (also played by Wilson) adds just the right touch of tango to the sound.
In addition to pieces by Piazzolla, he includes a few works by Ginastera, Piazzolla's first music composition teacher. The inclusion of these works enables the listener to hear, probably for the first time, the Ginastera bloodline which runs through much of Piazzolla's music.

William Wilson has been able to capture the true soul of tango. His guitar makes you feel the beauty and goodness of the Argentine soul. Congratulations, William, you did it! Piazzola and Ginastera would certainly be proud of this recording.
The pieces chosen shown how well William understands these composers and his interprations are phenomenal. His Argentine mother must be very proud of him! |
