It takes one who was there to do duty to the truth.,

This review is from: Tango Uniform (Mass Market Paperback)
Tom "Bear" Wilson did a wonderful job describing the joys and frustrations of Air Force fighter pilots trying to accomplish the jobs they were assigned by far distant managers who often had little understanding of the war and the conditions under which these brave men labored. Told honestly, from an aircrew member's view point, in such a skilled manner that people miles away who had never been in these conditions, could feel the frustrations, danger, and sometimes humor arising from their actions, pressing home the war to the North Vietnamese. "There's no way you can make this stuff up." is a frequent comment describing such feats of bravery or utter stupidity we often see, and Wilson brings his own experience and crew member's viewpoint to help explain a war that many of us still don't understand.
