Vampiros, November 18, 2003
This review is from: Tango V.4 (Audio CD)

Not bad, not good either, July 26, 2005
This review is from: Tango V.4 (Audio CD)
In true Garcia tradition of his later years, the album promises the moon, but delivers only broken glass.
The packaging of the CD is fantastic: for the first time in a long while, full credits, lyrics, and even a sampling of Garcia's artistic paint renderings of... whatever are included.
His major flaw in this album is... (you guessed it!), giving Pedro Aznar half control and credit over everything here.
Garcia did not need to do this. Mybe Pedro was hard up for money. If you ever lived in Argentina, you know how inexplicably expensive that country can be, good times or bad, inflation or not, foreign debt or no debt. Some mysteries will be revealed in the afterlife, which is exactly what Garcia implies in one of his paintings on the CD booklet.
Is this a good record or not? It depends. If you like syrupy tracks with no purpose, like practically anything Paul McCartney ever released, then this is the album for you.
If you hold Charly Garcia to a high standard, then this album is a waste of money, talent, time and space. There are probably 3 salvageable tracks, "Tu Amor", "Mientes", and "Solo Dios Sabe"("God Only Knows" - a Beach Boys oldie, Spanish words). The rest is embarrasingly stupid and easily forgotten. Buy this one only if it's for less than $5-, including shipping. At least you can get the 3 good tracks for the price of a CD single.
