Actually, Armando Moreno sings with Enrique Rodriguez' orquestra,

This review is from: Tangos, Valses Y Milongas (Audio CD)
For most of his career Enrique Rodriguez was famous for leading what could be considered the ultimate Argentine dance band, proficient not only with Buenos Aires' holy trinity of tango, milonga and vals, but just about every other dance rhythm under the sun, including foxtrot, polka and paso doble. However, this accomplished orquestra characteristica's best work (IHMO) was by far is in the tango rhythm, where they set up a light and very accessible 2X4 sound, excellent for dancing rhythmically in close embrace style.
Unfortunately his genius did not run to vals and milonga, and IMO the milongas on this CD are utterly horrendous. And, Rodriguez valses get old fast: although danceable to many of them are novelty songs not to be taken seriously, and all of them lack the romance we expect of the genre. However, all is forgiven, since the first 2 tracks are absolute gems, considered widely to be classics of Argentine tango, so as a tango DJ and intermediate to advanced dancer I am forced give this CD 4 stars, especially considering the wasteland of CDs out there with nothing I would want to dance to on them. If you are a beginning Argentine tango dancer, this is not an album to get early in your career. Instead get "Tangos con Armando Moreno" on the same label, which has about 10 classic tracks (more or less depending on who's counting).
