I teach 1st grade. We use tangrams a lot in geometry. The kids found the story cute, but they really love to make the shapes in the book. Some of them need a little help to copy the shapes in the book, but they have fun. So, this could definitely be used with older kids.

It's nice because this is an ABC book that has many words that start with each letter. Unlike other ABC books that have only one word with that letter. Overall, I really like this book.

This book gives designs for putting together tangram pieces to make letters of the alphabet and things that start with those letters. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 rating is that some of the designs "cheat" and do not use all 7 tangram pieces. But most of the designs do, and forming every letter of the alphabet plus many of the pictures of things that start with those letters was really satisfying. This is a fine little book.
