This review is from: Tangwystle (Paperback)
Tangwystl was a book I wouldn't normally read but I was very happy with it. The story is a saga set in the early 1400's and ends in 1430. Such an interesting time in history for the history buffs. However, the story is a mythological story setting a beautiful young woman as the heroine whose life goes from utter despair to strength as she finally returns to her homeland. Evidently the story is an offshoot off the Arthurian legends but is set later when Henry V of England wins his Agincourt and he also wins in Owain Glyndwrs rebellion against English rule in Wales. To cap it off, he has take James I of Scotland prisoner as a 9 year old.

I thought Tangwystl might be too long but the story was so delicate that it had to discover the characters natures through a series of events. And of course, Tangwystl's own character had to evolve from a bruised flower to a fabluous rose in the end. People might go "ugh, its another romance" but that isn't true; its a story about human emotions, about war in the 1400's, about rebellion and bravery but also about religion and what is right morally.

I highly recommend this book!
