If you are looking for a digital scale, this is an excellent and inexpensive option. It is very easy to use: simply tap the button on the side of the scale with your foot to turn it on, then step on the scale. I believe that the measurements are quite accurate, and I particularly like that the weight is given in half-pound increments.

As a body fat monitor, however, this scale is less useful. As other reviewers have mentioned, it has no memory function, and it is rather cumbersome to have to input gender and height information every time you want to take a measurement. I also agree that the values seem off; I exercise regularly and have a fair amount of muscle, and I don't think the monitor is able to take this into account.

This scale has worked well for me, as I use it mainly for weight measurement only; if you are looking for a good body fat monitor, you may want to look elsewhere.

I wanted a low end scale and went with this one. I was disappointed to find that you have to input the height every time to get fat calculations.

Body fat calculations are off because it only measures how the electricity runs through one leg to the other, so if you carry your weight more in your legs and hips, it will be higher than it really is, if you carry your weight in your torso but not in your legs it will be lower. This is true of any of the home body fat scales however.

I like that you can save information for two people on this scale and that it does weigh fairly accurately but the body fat analysis is way off. I had mine professionally checked and this scaled was off (heavy) by at least 5% body fat.

It isn't consistent and as the scale ages I have noticed that the weight measurement is also not that consistent.

For the price it is still good for having the digital option.

The only problem I can see with this scale is that it is so darn accurate. I prefer a scale that knocks off a few pounds! If I must have the truth, though, this scale is great. The numbers are easy to read (important for people my age) and it is easy to use. It doesn't look too bad, either! I am very pleased with it. Aside from the aforementioned accuracy.

I received this scale as a gift from my husband when I began a new fitness routine. I am glad he didn't spend a lot of money on it, as I have tried in the past to lose weight unsuccessfully. With this scale and body fat monitor, I was losing fat, not just weight. This scale is extremely accurate- I had my body fat tested at the gym and it was exactly the same. I love this scale and will probably upgrade to a different Tanita model after the holidays (a gift to myself!)

This is a good scale, with the only reason it doesn't get a 5 is that it doesn't save your information. I'm the only one who uses it, so I have to reinput my data everytime I want a body fat analysis.

Of course if this is/was a big deal to me, i would spent $30 more and got one that saved settings

Most accurate scale I have ever used, right on with my doctor. Very simple to use. My daughter-in-law liked mine so much she had me order on for her.

This scale is one of the low-end scale/body fat scales. It does not maintain any data - i.e. you have to reinput your height each time. You input type - adult/child, gender - female/male, and then push the button multiple times to input your height (unless you're 3' 6" - which is where the measurement starts). Then you step on and it shows your weight, and then after 5 seconds, it shows your body fat. For me, the measurement seems off - I've tried it at different times of day, and it fluctuates by 1 percent, but overall it seems too high. It is consistent, so that would be useful to document fat loss, but it's accuracy (for me)is suspect.
I will probably return this for a refund after another week. Too much button pushing for my liking.

I just wanted to add contrary to others comments that you DON'T have to re-enter your information each time. If you tap one of the bars on the bottom part of the scale, it will pull up your profile (height and gender), you then are able to stand on the scale and get your weight and body fat measurement. Two people can save their profiles, you do have to read the directions to learn how to use it properly. It's a good scale, but the body fat is definitely off by five percent. But this is why it's cheap. If you want accuracy, you have to pay for it. I'm satisfied with an estimate. I just know that I subtract 5%--no big deal to me, as long as I know it's consistantly 5% off.

I like the 1/2 pound increments. Body fat calculator takes a few minutes to set, but is not difficult.
