This scale is PERFECT! The large two line digital display is big enough to see even without my glasses. The programming is super simple, 5 minutes or less. By only programming once for each user and having space for a guest to try it out, getting your weight and body fat takes as much time as it normally takes just to weigh on other scales. The 2 lines stay lit long enough to take notes in a journal. The color on this model is actually an eggshell white, not gray as pictured...gray is for the "athletic" version available elsewhere. Before purchasing this scale, I did a lot of research through various sources and this one won out hands-down. I had never heard of Tanita prior, but they have an extensive line of precision weight equipment for home use, medical professions and manufacturing. I also read customer reviews from other websites and this scale comes with high recommendations. Tanita has a good website where you can clearly compare features from one model to the next to make sure you get a model that is going to suit your needs. I highly recommend this scale without hesitation.

What a great scale. My husband and I forgo the "Hal"-like aspects of this machine, figuring that our weights we would just as soon keep to ourselves. But the documentation that came with the scale persuades us that programming would be a cinch. We've used the scale -- him weekly and me daily -- for about six months now. It stows easily under a shelf in our bathroom and the battery seems to be holding up just fine. The VERY LARGE NUMBERS are a boon for our middle-aged eyes. Like the previous reviewer, I looked at a number of scales, including more expensive "doctor's office" type equipment. The more I looked, the more convinced I became of the high quality and good reliability of of Tanita equipment. We're very pleased.

I used to test my old scale by getting on and off it a number of times .. it was always off by pounds each time ... I was always doing the three out of five times test to get the "accurate" number (in my favor of course!)

This scale is wonderful. It is either totally accurate...OR... totally consistent! (either way works). I'm using it for weight control. But if you have heart problems and need to know what's going on in your body this is definitely way beyond your regular scale, the directions are extremely clear and VERY easy... If I can do it, you can, and feel safe.

My wife and I just bought this scale and I have to say that the programming is incredibly easy! We weigh ourselves every day and we love it, great quality, great features and you can program up to four family members plus a guest!! Awesome must have for the serious weight watcher.

I recently ordered this scale and can say it is the best one we have ever owned. It weighs consistently, and the body fat indicator is great (especially if you are on the low end!). We also love the easy selections for the four family members. Highly recommend!

I used it for over 6 months, bought it from Amazon for less then $50. This scale is great and accurate, but i hate that b****. It keeps on telling me that i'm fat. One day i will smash it with hammer! :)
Very accurate, reliable and reasonably priced with it's capabilities, easy to use, store and keep clean.

We have had this for several years and it is still working. It is accurate with a lot of features like BMI.

I was hoping this scale would help me keep track of my BMI as well as weight. It sends an impulse through your bare feet that measures BMI by assessing the mass vs. water in your body (roughly paraphrased). The scale has a disclaimer to the effect that because women's bodily water retention varies thorughout the month, the measurements of BMI may not be accurate. I am of quite average height/weight proportions and would calculate out to a normal BMI range of about 24, yet the scale consistently reports me as having a BMI of 36 or higher, which is considered obese. I've never gotten a normal reading, no matter when I try it during the month. Apparently since I tend to be more dehydrated, my readings are not accurate at all. We now use the scale for weight-measurement purposes only. It does have a large display and you can program the height, age, and activity level for 4 individuals so they have their own settings at the push of a button. BMI is only calculated for the adult age range in these saved settings. Perhaps it would work better for other people.
