Product Description

Tank Beat puts players at the controls of armored tanks and vehicles in the first real-time tank shooter for the Nintendo DS! Tank Beat's play is entirely stylus-based. Players draw tracks on the DS's bottom screen's game map to control tanks that appear on the top screen.  Tank Beat allows players to engage in a variety of missions and commandeer a full range of deadly tanks -- from tiny scrappers, to missile carriers, to giant Panzers.  Multiplayer adds even more depth with head to head action or on Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection platform for online play.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tankers need orders, November 23, 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tank Beat (Video Game)
The beginning of the game is fairly easy. But as the game progresses your ally tank gets dumber. So in the beginning the AI carries you, and doesn't really prepare you for the challenge of having to control your partner tank in later stages. So you have to get good with controlling your tank and giving orders to your partner tank, because she will either sit around doing nothing or trail so far behind you that she is useless, or sit around and take hits until she is destroyed.

Its story line takes you from being a "brat know it all", and dealing with other "brats" while being tutored by the "old veterans" with dark stories. Well pretty much every character has a story.

The interface is well designed, but it would be nice to be able to cycle back and forth between the ally tank commands. The top screen provides feedback on your targeting, while the lower screen is your primary control interface.
