5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining compilation. Great introduction to the franchise.
Being somewhat a cult comic fan, I'm always on the lookout for REALLY original looking stuff. So when I heard about "Tank Girl," I HAD to check it out. This compilation series starts off with Alan Martin, the writer of Tank Girl, giving an introduction talking about the source of inspiration for Tank Girl among other things. The series itself is pretty random and...

3.0 out of 5 stars New, better binding, but lack of color ruins it.
I bought this and the second book of the "remastered" edition because I had bought the old editions and the covers just plain fell off. I took them back to my local comics shop and was told they had simply glued issues together (yep, thats what they did). So the second I'd open the cover, the glue would become unstuck and just fall off. Pretty lame. These are bound in a...

The series itself is pretty random and childish, but also very funny, violent, sexy and stylish. It's mostly about a girl in her early twenties driving a highly armed tank around a post-apocalyptic Australia. Lots of boozing, nudity and kangaroo jokes.
This volume shows all the Tank Girl stuff from the first 8 issues of Deadline in the original black and white forms, which can be problem because :
A.) Some of the words are sort of faded, but not too bad.
B.) All you people who constantly demand to see color in movies, comics and music will be sorely disappointed.
Anyway, as a newcomer to the series, I was happy with it, but for the rest of you veteran fans, there's probably not too many reasons for you to replace the previous compilations you bought years ago with this one.

Tank girl is my favorite comic book character. I love this graphic novel!!!!! The product was in excellent condition when I received it. If you're a nerd and a girl you'll fall in love with Tank Girl, if you're a boy than you'll be laughing your bum off the whole time you're reading it!

These are bound in a different way, and stay on much better. But the color is non-existent! Why?! Why take a wonderfully illustrated set of comics and take that away? That's half of the enjoyability of the books, is the artwork. So for now, I'm stuck with these, better bound books, and my old poorly bound, but more vibrant books. Boo.

After seeing the movie Tank Girl I had to check out the comics, yeah yeah I know. I actually love the movie. Either way so far I am really liking this comic although the story is a little hard to follow. There are a lot of references to pop culture and some UK lingo I don't quite understand but the amazing artwork makes up for all of it. Even if the comic didn't have words I'd buy it for the artwork alone. I will be re-reading this one for sure :D

I fell in love with Tank Girl when a friend of mine in junior high used to get "Details" magazine and she was on the last pages. It's so cool to see the stories the creators tell about how they came up with stuff, and to get more of the pop culture references than I picked up on by myself. I say GET IT!!!
