Tanner Stakes His Claim, May 21, 2000
Great story about a young woman named Angelena who arrives in Edgewood, Texas with no memory of her past. She does not realize that she was raped on the train and is now pregnant. Angel has a lovely voice, gets a job singing in the local saloon and stirs the interest of the local Sheriff Wes Tanner who for some reason is drawn to her. The story has wonderful sub-characters Dex and Pip, his parents Rosemary and Gabe whose story was told in the first book of this series called "The Bachelor Tax" which I have not read but have ordered. Eventually Tanner convinces Angel to marry him, and the story of their pasts begins to surface. This enables them to finally realize their love for one another and to be able to deal with the future what ever it may hold.

A Wonderful Story!, June 14, 2006
Edgewood, Texas 1897
TANNER STAKES HIS CLAIM is a wonderful story of Sheriff Wes Tanner and the newly-arrived-to-town Angelena. Angelena is a woman of mystery and Wes vows to unravel her secrets and have her for his own. This story is a continuation of the Tanner Family of Edgewood, Texas. WISH UPON A STAR in the book ONE CHRISTMAS WISH is the story of Wes's sister, Anna. All three stories are well worth your time to enjoy!

ACTUALLY A 4 PLUS!, January 27, 2002
I was tickled to meet up with Wes Tanner - now sheriff of Edgewood, Texas - the adopted son of Gabrial and Rosemary Tanner.
I love following family stories -- somehow the characters take on a reality of their own.
This big, macho man faces the age old dilemma - can he accept another man's child to raise -- Gabe straightened him out on that one.
It was so moving to be allowed to experience his love for his family -- Gabe and Rosemary Tanner -- his sister Anna -- and the extension of his love for Gabe and Rosemary's children - Adam, Seth, Daniel and little Jenny.
I could truly appreciate her not allowing him to seduce her into bed without marriage, no matter how he tried to coirce her. [grin] She didn't make it easy for him -- even using his mother as a threat. I loved the inclusion and solution with Pip and Dex and their family. Although I was surprised at Jason's part in the story.
Great story, wonderful set of books - "The Bachelor Tax" and Anna's story in "One Christmas Wish" -- great addition to your library.
