More About the Author

I'm Willie, Scottish but now in Canada, and I write pulpy adventure stories in the main, with big beasties, men with guns, occult detectives, lost worlds, things from beyond, slime, ghosts, more beasties and more slime. And beer. I have 20 novels and over 300 stories published in the likes of Dark Regions Press, DarkFuse and Chaosium with many more still to come. And did I mention beer?

My current best seller is THE INVASION, a sci-fi alien invasion tale with mass carnage, plucky survivors, and last minute rescues. It has been as high as #2 in the Kindle > science fiction charts. (and #4 in Kindle > horror ).

This is a nice little fantasy story about a boy helping out his Mad Scientist Uncle. Lots of areas for you imagination to fill in, which for me at least, means plenty of opportunities to work some characters or situations like these into my home Pathfinder/Dungeons and Dragons game.

Definitely an enjoyable read before lights out for the day.

Whimsical but slightly sad fantasy fable about a young boy and his inept sorcerer grandfather who in many ways epitomizes the way in which science can create suffering by bumbling about with things it does not completely understand.

Meikle uses a subtle touch on this cautionary tale.

At the heart of science is the wonder of nature and the inquisitiveness of a child. Combined they can take us in all the wrong directions as the author skilfully shows in this splendid short story full of misadventure and mayhem.

This was a great short story. A young boy joins his grandfather in his medical experiments. Today's subjects are a newt and a bat. What could go wrong? Read this fun short story to see!
