STUNNING!, June 18, 2006
This review is from: Tantra Lounge 4 (Dig) (Audio CD)
I was absolutely thrilled to learned of the fourth entry in the "Tantra Lounge" series. I already had the third one and have been enjoying it since I got it in October of 2005. Now with the fourth entry, the series takes on yet a new color altogether. The fourth entry in the series takes the series on a more romantic, slightly more acoustic, turn with the tracks having a more jazz-oriented sound and away from the electronica of the previous entry. Although slightly shorter in length, being at 75 minutes versus over 79 minutes as was the third one, "Tantra Lounge Volume 4" has more than enough great music to satisfy one's tastes in adventurous music.
Major beauties include the opening track "Aini" by an artist/group called Akim El Sikameya which has beautiful keyboard arrangements before blossoming into an exotic danceable track.

they got this one right, September 8, 2006
This review is from: Tantra Lounge 4 (Dig) (Audio CD)
I have the first two albums in the Tantra Lounge series, and found that they seem to lack something. I could never define what, but I wound up not really listening to them.
This one is completely different. Whatever they were missing, they found it. From the moment I heard the sample of "The Baghdad Groove" I knew I had to buy it. I went on to discover more gems like "Beauty and the East", "Ohm", and "Mystic Caravan". Of course it also never hurts to include some of my favorite artists (Thievery Corporation and Natacha Atlas).
Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised with this album. The only songs I'm not immediately in love with are "Raga" and "Flight 828", but that's just personal taste. I hope they continue choosing songs of this quality for future compilations!

Tantra: gets better with practice, March 6, 2007

Imagine if the East and the West got together and had a love child, and that the love child embodied all that is great from both cultures. Now imagine that love child compiled an album. This would be that album. Enjoy.
