TANTRA OF SOUND was a great find for me. It offered many new ways of connecting to myself and others using sound. There's material there about everything from how to breathe to how to chant special mantras that will help heal you. There's also a really excellent CD included with the book that helps you realize how to pronounce and make the sounds that the Goldmans present in the book. This book is great for everyone from a novice to an expert interested in the field of sound healing. It's a wonderful way to experience first hand how to connect your energy to the sacredness of the universe through your own self created sound. It's also a great way to use sound to connect with other people in a heart centered way.

Tantra is a vast and complicated tradition. The physical practices of Tantra have been magnified out of proportion in the Western consciousness. They are a beautiful thing-- But the literally sexual aspects of tantra are a relatively minor offshoot in a much more intricate array of practices, philosophies and disciplines. This book offers a direct, and very user-friendly practical guide to one of the crucial aspects of tantric energy work, the role of sound and vibration. As you work through the vocal toning exercises presented in the text( and on the accompanying CD), you will be empowered with techniques to harmonize your own energy and vibrations. This is perhaps the "highest" goal of tantra. And as you awaken the creative power inherent in your own voice, you will also discover how this same creative energy can be used to bring you into greater harmony and attunement with a partner. The exercises in the book are non-sexual in nature, focusing mainly upon working on the emotional and energetic levels,but creative readers may be able to "read between the lines", and imagine how any of the dyad toning techniques could be applied in any aspect of "tantric" practice ;)

TANTRA OF SOUND is an extraordinary book about how to use sound to connect with your inner self as well as higher aspects of being. I've found the book extremely helpful, not only for using sound to resonate my chakras and put myself in alignment, but also to use to create harmony with others. The Goldmans, author of this award winning book (2006 Visionary Award for Best Alternative Health Book)focus on the authentic meaning of tantra as the matrix that manifests all reality and how to use sound to connect to this. The book comes with a great CD that teaches you how to make the varous sounds they describe. TANTRA OF SOUND is excellent for anyone interested in learning how to use your voice for healing and transformation. Deepak Chopra said of the book "...provides a significant new approach to creating harmony & balance...". He speaks the truth!
