Valley orgasm - YES!,
By Al Link and Pala Copeland "4 Freedoms Sacred ... (Pembroke, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tantric Orgasm for Women (Paperback)
Excellent presentation of information about the polarity of the different chakras and the role of breasts in the female orgasmic response. The best discussion we have seen of the experience of a valley orgasm. She explains how to relax into a whole-body orgasm rather than achieving it as a goal.

I had taken a couple of tantra workshops and this book provided even more information than i thought possible! This is a must read for every woman. I am getting copies for my close women friends and verbally telling other galfriends about it. It is easily read-able and do-able. This has changed my sex-life forever.

I am new to tantra, but not to meditation or conscious exploration of sexuality. The author makes a lot of blanket assumptions about how "we" women experience "our" sexuality (repressed, pressured, abused, man-pleasing, out of touch with our own pleasure or power, fearful of penetration, truly desiring only of sweet, tender caresses) and about how men's sexuality is (aggressive, insensitive, rough, fast, out of touch with his own emotions, truly desiring only to get it in and off as fast as possible). Perhaps this describes many women's sexual lives, but not mine. It took enormous self control to keep reading and give the ideas a fair trial. The second half was less patronizing. I tried out some of the ideas and had an excellent experience, but I did not find the author's take on tantra to be inspiring or insightful. I will be pursuing tantra, but looking for a more modern book, one which speaks better to the psycho-sexual landscape of women raised in the 80s-90s-00s.

This review is from: Tantric Orgasm for Women (Paperback)
Brilliant! This book designed for women is the one I've been waiting for all my life. Beautifully written and easy to read- with exercises that enhance each chapter's understanding. I can feel my body's energies more fully now with deeper awareness and love. It's an integration process of sexuality and spirituality that is self empowering. Highly recommended to all women who desire to know themselves on all levels.

Very insightful, both from Male & Female prespective,

We've just started our quest on this path, and found the insights given in this book to be helpful. There are some books out there focused on the Hindu foundation, and others on titilation, but this seems to connect in a practical western manner. Tantra is a process for sharing a deeper connection, and this book gives the proper context for that. This is not a primer on how to try "new" positions, etc.

For fans of tantra, newbies or long time practitioners, this book is an absolute joy. Ms. Richardson explores the tantric realms with a uniquely feminine perspective, and she does so with grace and insight. Her studies with the amazing Osho are also highlighted here, as she pulls out some of the master's best tidbits on this subject, and expertly integrates his wisdom with her own. Don't let the title fool you into thinking this is just a book on gratuitous pleasure - this is a truly deep and explorative text that gently navigates these marvelous energies. Ms. Richardson's use of language to describe this journey is just gorgeous, and the exercises cover both those an individual can do, and of course couples as well. Lots of surprises about the tantric path in here as well, but they all feel spot-on perfect. Thank you Diana for this marvelous book :)

Heterosexist ignorance to the umpteenth power!,
By Sharon Sharalike (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tantric Orgasm for Women (Paperback)
Wow, I would not recommend this book to anyone! I persevered to find it on a new acquaintance's recommendation. I was told it was from a heterosexual woman's perspective but that it contained good information beyond that as well. But unfortunately I have been stopped in my tracks, really stunned, by how the author truly believes her own entrenched, unexamined heterosexist assumptions about what is male, female, masculine and feminine - to the point of even declaring in the book that there is no such thing as heterosexual prejudice. Astounding! I really can't believe that every heterosexually identified woman or man believes this stuff! The author did include comments from women who have let her know that her limited "information" does not help them in their own tantric explorations with other women. Women have shared with her that they are drawn to other women and can feel that there is a strong energetic connection and power there, yet the author speaks to this only to diminish it and downplay its power. Anyone who partakes of or believes in this very limited understanding of embodiment and spirit is missing out tremendously, not just sexually but on life in general. The other problematic thing about this book is the author's unexamined reliance on the teachings of Osho. From Wikipedia:
'Osho was a professor of philosophy and travelled throughout India in the 1960s as a public speaker. His views against socialism, Mahatma Gandhi, and institutionalised religion were controversial. He also advocated a more open attitude towards sexuality, a stance that earned him the sobriquet "sex guru" in the Indian and later the international press. . . . In 1981, Osho relocated to the United States and his followers established an intentional community, later known as Rajneeshpuram, in the state of Oregon. Within a year the leadership of the commune became embroiled in a conflict with local residents, primarily over land use, which was marked by hostility on both sides. Osho's large collection of Rolls-Royce motorcars was also notorious. The Oregon commune collapsed in 1985 when Osho revealed that the commune leadership had committed a number of serious crimes, including a bioterror attack (food contamination) on the citizens of The Dalles. Osho was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with immigration violations. He was deported from the United States in accordance with a plea bargain.[....] Twenty-one countries denied him entry, causing Osho to travel the world before returning to Pune, where he died in 1990. . . .' Osho may have died but his mistakes still live on in the works of his unquestioning followers, Diana Richardson being one.

I tried to contact the seller twice and there was never a response. Then the product arrived 5 days AFTER the projected arrival date. I needed it for a book club meeting. However, the book was in excellent condition.
