This is a good choice for someone who wants to move from "freshman" to "sophomore" status -- and for many people, that may be as far as they want to go.

This is a good choice for someone who wants to move from "freshman" to "sophomore" status -- and for many people, that may be as far as they want to go.

Tantus has built a fine reputation with its high-quality silicone-based products, and this one is no exception. Silicone is very pliable and resilient, much different from the comparatively rigid molded plastic of days past. Fortunately, unlike the very wiggly small version of this product (Tantus Ripple Small Anal Plug, Electric Blue), this one has enough substance to stay pointed at its target during insertion instead of wiggling around and missing. As with any such toy, lubrication is essential. Cleaning of silicone toys is easy and effective.

This product stands 7 inches tall (6-1/2" insertable). The four bulbs gradually increase in diameter from 7/8" at the tip to 1-1/2" at the large end. This allows the user to increase the level of "invasion" step by step, as comfort allows, and to stop if a limit is hit. With practice, one learns to relax, and further steps can be taken. (In my case, the first two bulbs were routine, and the third was relatively easy, but the final one took several sessions -- so there was a bit of an element of challenge there. It is important not to force things, but rather to allow the muscle to relax and enlarge at its own pace. It will happen, with patience.)

Note that this really is not a true "plug" in the traditional sense. It will not stay in place on its own, even when fully inserted, because there is not enough difference between the diameter of the largest bulb and the diameter of the shaft closest to the base. It continually wants to slide back out. It can be used as a way to relax and loosen things up for something more substantial (such as, for example, a true butt plug), but it requires continual attention of some kind, either holding it in place or moving it in and out for stimulation. In other words, you can't just insert it and leave it while moving on to other activities -- it will be back out within a matter of seconds.

All in all, this is an excellent choice for anyone ready to graduate beyond the tame "starter" units. It is still reasonable in size (unlike some of the gargantuan products available), and its flexibility and resilience make it very comfortable to use. The size of the final bulb is respectable but still within reason, and accomplishing that one -- even if it takes a few tries -- may well satisfy many people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent place to start..., November 30, 2009
This review is from: Tantus Ripple Anal Plug (Health and Beauty)
This little toy has brought me a lot of pleasure. It's flexible, smooth, comfortable. It isn't intimidating for beginners. If you're just looking to explore anal play, I would recommend this product.

I suppose I'm a bit more advanced than I and my partner thought. It wasn't quite enough for me. I'd prefer a bit more weight and size. I've found that the base isn't quite right for keeping it in place for longer periods of time.

If you're exploring, or just prefer something smaller, definitely give this one a try. If you're more advanced or looking for something that will stay in place for anal training, you might want to try something a bit larger with a more rounded base.

5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoy using this., October 5, 2010

I use this quite a lot. Needs lube and cleans up fairly well. Wish it had a suction base, so I wouldn't have to hold it.

This was the first type of product that I purchased for personal use. Great for starting out with. I like the differences

of the ripple sizes when they change back and forth. If you think you'll like it get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent toy, February 2, 2012

Bought this to help bridge the gap between some of our smaller toys and the bigger ones we were working towards, and all I can say is what a great product! Wife loves it and that is what matters to me! Make sure to use plenty of lube,a s with any silicone toy. Took some time to work up to the last ball for her, but she was very excited when she did and she said she had an incredible full feeling and loved it!! Can't wait to continue to use this toy

4.0 out of 5 stars Silicone not best material, March 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a quality item. You may find that because this is made from silicone that it may be a little too flexible for its' intended use. Besides that, I would recomend this product. It is above all safe because of its' construction material. I have been on a search for the perfect bead/plug product and this is a good one. I will keep looking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Purple Hazed, December 10, 2007

At first I tried the plug. It is a bit too long for comfort. The increased size feels great at the point of orgasm when being stroked with this beautiful plug. The color and diameter are great for this anal plug. I later used this while performing oral on my love. I inserted the tip into her vagina and one by one stoped at the spot between the 3 and 4 ripple. Small stroking at this point produced a wild rush over my love that had me almost let go with her. Try this one for vaginal penetration during oral for some added zing! Perhaps a little anal while giving oral to my little love?
