Delightful story, feels so real,

This is currently my favorite book to read my daughter (19mo). My favorite thing about it is the tense. It's past-present, so Tanya is telling the story about what happened, but in present tense. It lends an authenticity rare in childrens' books. It's much easier to feel like you are there with Tanya as she waits to learn how to dance on toe.
