5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable Practice
I've used this tape for about 6 years off and on. I came across it at a Kaiser Permanente
Stress Management workshop. I was an athletic person in my mid-50s at the time. George Leonard is a great teacher and a guy with heart and soul. The moves he introduces in the tape are a series of stretch exercises that address many parts of the body. Drawn from Tai chi,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rented at the library
This video was made from George Leonard who fought in WWII & 5th degree black belt in akido which was why I rented it.
I had little time so I just skimmed it with a martial arts friend... It is just basic stretching you'd see in most workouts... some standing forward bends, leg touches, knees to chest, etc. My friend said he saw a couple very easy akido warm up...

5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable Practice, August 12, 2011
This review is from: The Tao of Practice [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've used this tape for about 6 years off and on. I came across it at a Kaiser Permanente
Stress Management workshop. I was an athletic person in my mid-50s at the time. George Leonard is a great teacher and a guy with heart and soul. The moves he introduces in the tape are a series of stretch exercises that address many parts of the body. Drawn from Tai chi, yoga, stretch exercises, the routine incorporates a series of movements that gently and responsibly work the whole body. They are not aggressive, but overall add up to a great, balanced practice which includes full-body exercise, a deep relaxation technique, transformational affirmations and a short meditation exercise at the end. It's the best mind-body exercise tape I've ever come across, and I have never tired of hearing George Leonard's voice. I wish i had met the man in person. Who would have thought a little tape could bring that much good into my life.

I had little time so I just skimmed it with a martial arts friend... It is just basic stretching you'd see in most workouts... some standing forward bends, leg touches, knees to chest, etc. My friend said he saw a couple very easy akido warm up moves, but nothing he suggested I'd like unless I was injured & looking for something light.
This would be good for those who are a bit out of shape or those who were born around WWII or older & need to stretch more.
Since I admit I didn't not watch it only watched it on FFwd, take my review as you may.
