5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Gem, February 6, 2009
This review is from: The Tao of Rejuvenation: Fundamental Principles of Health, Longevity, and Essential Well-Being (Paperback)
This book came to me at the perfect juncture in my life...being in my late 40's and trying to capture the essence of eternal youth, I was extremely pleased to come across "The Tao of Rejuvenation". Written in a conversational tone, the book is both extremely interesting as well as both detailed and informative.

The book not only provides very practical advice on how to achieve optimum health, but also draws upon the more esoteric foundations of regeneration, found in the ancient cultures of the East. The book is therefore very inspiring and heart restorative. It takes health to a different level than most of the other health books on the market.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone seriously interested in living a long and happy life.

What a surprise this book was to read! This book was a birthday gift, and "The Tao of Rejuvenation" is by far one of the most unusual, comprehensive, and thoughtful books on radical rejuvenation I've read in years. Along with sections on right diet and conscious exercise, the book offers a wealth of information on cultivating and purifying the blood, heart regenerators, rebalancing the nervous system, Yin and Yang supporting foods for the kidneys, Kegel exercises, practical organ alchemy and supportive herbs, to name but a few of the many sections covered. A book that seamlessly integrates the body, mind and spirit, and one that I found outshines itself with tremendous knowledge of both the ancient and modern healing worlds, all presented in a basic manner the reader can easily follow and use.

Finally, an operating manual for the human body! Our bodies are amazingly, mind-boggling complex. But Druda manages to explain the most technical and esoteric aspects of health and well-being with great clarity. From diet and exercise to sexuality to faith and prayer, Druda explains the practices to purify, rebalance, and rejuvenate the whole body. The book covers the basic info that all humans desiring optimal health need to know. And for one who desires to delve more deeply into a particular area, the Resources for Rejuvenation section is invaluable.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exciting, important book, September 16, 2009

This review is from: The Tao of Rejuvenation: Fundamental Principles of Health, Longevity, and Essential Well-Being (Paperback)
When is the last time you read a book on health that held your attention from the first to the last page while telling you really important things you've never heard before? I read a lot of books on the subject of diet, exercise, and optimal well-being. "The Tao of Rejuvenation" is really different. It gave me a completely new perspective on the process of health and healing, a perspective I'd never really heard before . . . and then some. The author, Angelo Druda, appears to be that very health practitioner who is at once deeply grounded and truly open to the living spirit above. The result is a lucid, beautifully presented body of practical instruction and integrated wisdom that I now consider absolutely essential for anyone who cares about not only living longer, but living truer and happier as well. The book really has great scope, literally from birth to death. If it were up to me it would be on the curriculum of every medical school in the country. By the way, every friend with whom I've shared this book has thanked me profusely. So I'm now giving out copies as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars highly recommended, March 17, 2010
This review is from: The Tao of Rejuvenation: Fundamental Principles of Health, Longevity, and Essential Well-Being (Paperback)
As the health care crisis continues to deepen, here is a book for the times. The Tao of Rejuvenation is the handbook for health self sufficiency. The author lays out the principles and practices, in clear detail, and entertaining prose, that allow the body's own healing chemistry to awaken and flow. The section on purifying and empowering the blood is unique, and these practices are definitely proving effective for me. There is much to consider in these pages. Inspiring, and highly recommended.

This is a remarkable and life changing book. It combines ancient wisdom with a simple, balanced modern approach. It covers all areas of life in a way that you can't help but learn from. Whether you are trying to stay young, live longer or just lead a fuller life this book is packed with help. My whole family have read it and benefited enormously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware!, March 24, 2010
This review is from: The Tao of Rejuvenation: Fundamental Principles of Health, Longevity, and Essential Well-Being (Paperback)
I found Angelo's book very misleading. It's such an easy read, you might lose sight of its depth. Following his advice has certainly resulted in better physical health (thank god!), but it's not a quick-fix. The process of rebalancing ourselves inevitably requires some time, and patience, and sensitivity. But it also awakens a deeper felt intelligence that makes personal rejuvenation possible, and also shows our inherent connection to all living creatures, and the planet itself. A `simple' book, and a must-read.

5.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU WANT TO HEAL, BUY THIS BOOK... (!), March 17, 2010

I've read hundreds of books on healing and been to more doctors and natural therapists than is probably useful in a human lifetime. I return to the wisdom of Angelo Druda on daily basis. It's esoteric, wide-ranging and eminently practical, regardless of your ailment or lack of one. What's probably the most crucial aspect of this work is that it doesn't focus narrowly on an aspect of bodily well being as if the body or its systems can be compartmentalized. They can't. Which is why most alternative healing modalities end up in a dogmatic quagmire, neglecting key aspects of what it means to actually get well -- on every level possible. Personally, I'm interested in keeping my organs happy, and he taught me how to do that. But what I've found most useful overall are the principles he delicately, and with real wisdom, offers throughout this book. If you want to learn how to live like a 100+ year old Tang dynasty Taoist and still drive your Audi around town, indulge yourself in this rich collection of life habits you should already be doing as a matter of course. I'm starting to sound like a freaking marketing rep for North Atlantic Books now, but seriously, BUY IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem, A treasure, June 21, 2011

This review is from: The Tao of Rejuvenation: Fundamental Principles of Health, Longevity, and Essential Well-Being (Paperback)
The Tao of Rejuvenation by Angelo Druda is one of the most beautiful books on health and wellness that I have, as a bookseller, ever come across.

The Tao of Rejuvenation, thanks to the simple and profound concepts, will enrich the lives of anyone who applies even a few of the fundamental yet somehow forgotten treasures of health.

The simple pleasures in life are the true gems, some say, and, in a day and age where many of us may have become disenchanted with high tech regimes, The Tao of Rejuvenation is here, as a precious gem in itself, to show all of its readers how to dust off that which no longer serves us and polish up the precious gem that each and everyone of us is capable of brilliantly radiating.

This is truly excellent - a friendly and completely engaging look at how to maximize longevity, how to help a human body to live a decent number of years. The book has been sitting on our kitchen table since Christmas; I dip into it every day or two and let it reinforce all the best and deepest common sense intuitions about living. Based on principles of Chinese medicine but totally absorbing and profound whatever your philosophical disposition.
