Book Description

January 1, 1998
In the modern world, people are not only separated from their environment, but also from their own bodies and minds. We can learn to integrate all these fragments and return to our original nature. In 'Tao, the Subtle Universal Law', Hua-Ching Ni carefully presents the wisdom and practical methods that the ancient Chinese have successfully used for centuries. To lead a good stable life is to be aware of the actual conjoining of the universal subtle law with every moment and event of our lives. The real meaning of taoist self-discipline is to harmonize with universal law. This is almost the total secret of a Taoist life. The value of this book lies in the fact that it not only tells us 'why' but also 'how.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and concise, November 2, 2009
This review is from: Tao: The Subtle Universal Law and the Integral Way of Life (Paperback)
I found this book to be particularly detailed and informative covering subjects from diet, sleep, etc. A great addition to the collection to go with The Scholar Warrior and, of course, The Classics.

1.0 out of 5 stars New Age Claptrap, June 1, 2007
This review is from: Tao: The Subtle Universal Law and the Integral Way of Life (Paperback)
There are a few key insights in this book---if you don't mind wading through pages and pages of trite platitudes and new agey nonsense. This book, like all the others by the same author, is not worth your time or your money.

If you're looking for Taoist wisdom, why not go directly to the source? Read the Tao Te Ching, the writings of Chuang Tzu, the Lieh Tzu, the Wen Tzu, I Ching, etc. Any one of these writings has about 12 times more insight than all of Hua Ching Ni's books combined.
