I have read many translations of the Tao de Ching.
An inordinate number of the reviews and commentaries repeat that this wisdom book is filled conflict and contradictions. Not so with Stephen Mitchell's translation which is a light illuminating the darkness! Mitchell the poet, the author, and the philosopher has given us a true work of art, poetry, insight and love. This translation is my guide and my path.
