5.0 out of 5 stars Feng Shui Made Easy (and Fun)!
An exceptional book. Clearly written, inspirational, and a joy to read. Other books on feng shui have left me disheartened, fumbling with a compass and feeling my fate was hopelessly doomed by the layout of my home. 1.0 out of 5 stars The Tao that is spoken of is not the Tao
The old saying is certainly true in this instance. This book is neither Tao nor Feng Shui. If I had paid more than the shipping cost I would have returned it. This book is a product of the Buddhist cult that has been marketing their oversimplified version of FS in the west since the mid-80's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Feng Shui Made Easy (and Fun)!, February 5, 2000

This review is from: Taoist Feng Shui: The Ancient Roots of the Chinese Art of Placement (Paperback)
An exceptional book. Clearly written, inspirational, and a joy to read. Other books on feng shui have left me disheartened, fumbling with a compass and feeling my fate was hopelessly doomed by the layout of my home. However, within minutes of picking up this book, I was already delightfully making little changes here and there. By the time I was finished, my apartment was transformed! The I Ching summary at the end of the book adds a generous bonus to this already invaluable feng shui manual.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wise, insightful, yet practical., August 5, 2000

This review is from: Taoist Feng Shui: The Ancient Roots of the Chinese Art of Placement (Paperback)
This is the only book that explains the wisdom and spirituality of Feng Shui in a way that is practical. I read it cover to cover in one sitting because it reads as exciting as a mystery. It was fun to picture in my mind how to apply the info to my own home as I read. Two thumbs up and six stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must" for all students and practitioners of Feng Shui., March 4, 2000
This review is from: Taoist Feng Shui: The Ancient Roots of the Chinese Art of Placement (Paperback)
Ancient Taoists developed feng shui from an understanding of universal energies, and this guide traces its history and how its knowledge has evolved in conjunction with basic Taoist beliefs. More than just a 'how to' guide, this examines the spiritual foundations of feng shui concepts.

This review is from: Taoist Feng Shui: The Ancient Roots of the Chinese Art of Placement (Paperback)
A wonderful guide to the Chinese practice of placement from a Taoist perspective. Offers traditional Taoist aspects of feng shui, including the Lo P'an Compass and the I Ching, as well as the relationship between feng shui and Taoist astrology. Also includes information on the Ba Gua Map and the Five Elements, including many examples of how to arrange rooms and counter negative energies in your home or office.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great material and immediately useful, July 29, 2000

This review is from: Taoist Feng Shui: The Ancient Roots of the Chinese Art of Placement (Paperback)
Susan Levitt has done a fantastic job of pulling together the ancient art of Feng Shui into a format that is understandable and very useful around the house and office. I am very pleased with the results, and I was fortunate enough to see financial, health, and relationship changes for the better.

I really like practical information and this book is full of it. It was clear and easy to read. I especially thought the insightful chapter on the five elements very applicable to everyday life. I have seen results from the suggestions in Susan's book.

4.0 out of 5 stars From a Taoist's perspective, August 17, 2010

This review is from: Taoist Feng Shui: The Ancient Roots of the Chinese Art of Placement (Paperback)
First off, the calendar dates in the back of the book are the correct starting & ending dates for the years. This means the author and publisher recognized and corrected the discrepencies in Susan Levitt's astrology book. Though I am a practitioner of Taoism I am new to Feng Shui. This book is one of the best sources for learning to practice basic Feng Shui techniques. It even gives you tips and info reguarding what areas to focus on depending on what animal and element you were born into. This book also gives you tips on what to avoid doing. I'm giving this book a 4-star rating because the information is not as well organized as the astrology book. The information seems to be somewhat scattered and in some instances backwards. The astrology book also seemed to be written backwards but the info was organized exactly how I would have done it. This is otherwise a very good and helpful book and I will study it further to apply the techniques to my and my family's own situations.
