VERY nice folding stock. Would recommend it to anyone. It was sad giving up the beautiful wooden stock my wasr-10 came with, but it was a much needed change for me.
The part that fits into the receiver just needs minor bondo work, and you better use the screws your ak came with, the ones they provide you with just wont be able to hold a stock in place, many people have written about their stocks loosening up after a few weeks of use. I used the wood screws and i can tell you my stock aint goin anywhere. The ak's screws are much longer than the ones provided with this stock, so your going to have to drill through a metal reinforcement plate in the stock too. So if your willing to spend a few extra dollars on some bondo, get all messy, and dont mind dealing with really really stubborn screws (took me a good 2 hours to get the screws all the way in), then this stock is amazing, and i love it!

Locks tightly open and closed, easy to use. You can also use the steel pin on the side as a sling mount.

This stock took all of 10 minutes to replace. After I removed the two original screws and slid the original stock free from the receiver, the Tapco slid snugly into place with no modification. I used the included drill bit to drill two pilot holes, and opted to use the longer original screws to secure the stock (vice the smaller included screws). That was it. It folds to the starboard side of the rifle, where the top of the stock rests just below the charging handle, but does not interfere with it. Open, it feels solid and of comparable length to the original stock. The overall length of the rifle with stock folded is 28"; with the stock extended, the rifle is 37". Nice product. |
