A True Firemans Tool,
By Wendy Holcomb (Nags Head, NC USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: US Tape 69110 Truckman Fire Axe (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am a Captain with a career fire department, and I carry the Truckman Battle Axe with me every day. With the 16-1/2 inches long handle it's only slightly larger than a framing hammer. I keep it on the belt of my Scott-Pac as a personal escape tool. I hope I never need to use it, but if I ever get trapped I know I can cut a hole through just about any wall. The pointed end cuts through sheet metal like a can opener. The Truckman Battle Axe is well balanced and built as tough as the best fire axe. I recommend it to any firefighter.

Excellent tool,

This is a great tool. I've been a professional firefighter for 10 years in the Boston area, and this is the best investment I've made. This can be swung with both hands or just one. It is great for close quarters and ladder work. It makes for a handy second tool.I paid more. This is well worth the money!

Small but packs a big punch,

As a muliti use tool this is the best. Small but tough when you need to get into the wall or other areas to overhaul you need something that will do the job but will not take alot of energy.
The chrome is easy to keep free of junk and never needs painting. Just alittle polish and you are on your way.

Rugged, useful tool,

Because of it's ideal size, I'm able to always keep my truckman demolition axe handy - I keep one in my car and another in my truck. Optimum size for ease of storage & highly portable. Yet it's a really serious tool on which I can easily use both hands to get more power in my swing. Very well balanced for such a formidable tool.
The pointed ends are especially useful in tearing out light aluminum & exterior steel siding and panels such as you'll find on mobile homes, RVs, automobiles, trucks, buildings & houses. It's a sure bet in helping me easily remove drywall. I always carry one with me in both vehicles so I can easily break out of my vehicle if necessary or into another damaged vehicle to try to help someone in need.

The Truckman has an excellent handling and I relly like it, the only manco is the scabbard and belt which I find of poor quality and they are not worth the 19.99$ they demand for it solo. They system is ingenious but not too solid, leather would be better a better choice.
The Truckman itself is great! I just had a problem to find the brand "Made in the USA" on it. The scabbard comes from Asia.

The Truckman Fire Axe,

We purchased the axe, because we live in a ground level house, and have lightweight bars installed on all the windows. We were concerned that in an emergency the barred windows may hinder a speedy exit. It is certainly a well built piece of equipment and we hope we will never need to use it.

I bought this axe for my husband's collection. He is a retired firefighter and we have a room dedicated to fire memorbelia and collectables. It is very nice. It makes a nice addition to his collections.
