I have several instructional books on tapestry weaving but this book beats them all by far. It clearly describes yarns to use for warp and weft. It also gives guidance in beginning setts, Both of these points are unfortunately glossed over in other books leaving the beginner both wondering what to use and open to making costly mistakes. The practice weaving "sampler" is outlined which each step containing new techniques that allow the beginner weaver to develop the skills necesary to venture forth on their own upon completion of this book. A must have for the beginner!

I found this book to be both helpful and inspiring. Along with clear instructions and projects for beginners, the author encourages creativity by presenting a multitude of contemporary tapestries in large, clear photographs. The many styles included will inspire weavers inclined to both traditional and modern tapestry.

A must have for those learning tapestry weaving on their own. Easy to understand, excellent illustrations.

Lovely book: basic methods and alternatives explained clearly, some lovely ideas and an inspiring read and I have only browsed it so far.

For me, this book is difficult to read, presenting material haphazardly. There are many words in this book and they just don't say all that much. Maybe if it were a less expensive book I would appreciate it more. Not recommended.
