Heard this song first in the game Little Big Planet. I am a big fan of it since it has a uniqueness to it with the mesh of traditional African instruments and more modern ones creating a very fun piece. Some parts of the song have a real bounce and energy to them while others are very moving, as Toumani's vocals always seem to be.

Just go buy "Get It Together",
This review is from: Tapha Niang (MP3 Download)
This song makes me SICK. I have nothing against Muslims, but because it's lyrics are lines from the Quran, the ever popular PlayStation 3 game: LittleBigPlanet (my favorite game)'s release had to be delayed so Media Molecule (the developers) could remove the lyrics from this song so it could be used in the game! This is the only song from the game that is NOT on my wish list. If you want music from LBP, get "Get it Together" by The Go! Team. Thunder, Lightning, Strike

Boycott this artist!,

This song uses verses of the Quran and sets them to music. It does so without ANY regard to the ethical or cultural implications of doing so. Neither the artist nor their record label have any concern, sympathy, knowledge, or even an ounce of intelligence to take a minute to do a search on 'Quran in music' in Google and see how offensive it is to the religion of over a third of the world's population!
At least now you know how to piss off 1/3 of your potential customer base, by being an ignorant a-hole. The song itself is mediocre and many other artists are available who have done music for video games and done an incredible job of it (Nobuo Uematsu comes to mind immediately, aka 'Mr. Final Fantasy'). |
