I have had this book for a long time and decided to read it for the first time this summer and I want all the readers to know this is truly an inspirational book. it's one of Iyanla's earlier books it is raw but believe me I couldn't put it down. This book will make you sad, happy you will cry but most of all you will learn a lesson. I thoroughly enjoyed this book most of all I have all of her books but this one I feel is best of them all.

The first page blew me away and then it continued. This is a truly inspiring book. The chapter on forgiveness was awesome and I am about to start releasing. Iyanla is one gifted sister and I thank her every day for sharing her gift and helping humankind to see that all is not lost if we fix ourselves first. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Transformation -GET IT HERE...are you ready?,
This review is from: Tapping the Power Within: A Path to Self-Empowerment for Women (Hardcover)
This book is a beautifully-written, honest, humble and insightful roadmap to self discovery, self-forgiveness, and self-empowerment. In this day and age of formulaic drivel, this author stands out as powerful, practical resource for living in vibrance. Ms. Vanzant shares deeply personal and often painful aspects of her past with the generous intention to heal the reader. Her sharp humor and poignancy make the read very easy. She gives specifics on how to connect with your power and making right choices, no vague greeting card nonsense here. Her style is easy to understand, and the wisdom and value is immediately apparent and accesible. She has that rare talent of making complex and subtle points seem effortless, clear and deceptively simple. This author is a true gem and the real deal. GET THIS BOOK NOW..don't let fear and procrastination talk you out of it. You CAN afford it. You are worth it. Invest in yourself and sow a seed into your life.

"You must find a teacher or a leader. Look for one who empowers you to hear the truth in your own heart. Look for one who loves you without seeking to control you, one who is able to tell you her truth without expecting you to agree with it. Find a teacher who honors you and treats you with dignity and respect. By her fruits you will know she is your teacher." Paul Ferrini
Reverend Doctor Mama Iyanla Vanzant, you and this book have done this for me. Thank you.

Don't FEAR - Tapping your own power!,
By RevCoach "Ladylt" (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tapping the Power Within: A Path to Self-Empowerment for Women (Hardcover)
Tapping is really a HOW-TO manual of stimulating and maintaining that essence that we all have, no matter the tradition. The first time I read this book, I was searching but I wasn't ready. My faith walk did not embrace anything that did not look exactly like the pillars it taught. Isn't that ironic? In fact, I gave it away. Tapping is that powerful. My soul picked it off the shelf. If you are here reading the reviews, there is something in you that drew you to this book. I say LISTEN. This is a manual for powerful women to harness that power with a practice. I'm grateful for the re-release of Tapping at time and season where consciousness is transcending denominations and expanding ways of being. Iyanla was one of the only voice of my youth that spoke to this awareness when it wasn't popular. Iyanla spoke into me through her writing about the things that stirred in my spirit as a woman. Iyanla Vanzant through this first work can settle that which stirs in you. Don't be afraid. . . of your own power, Tap it! (LOL!)

In the year 1992, I first found Ms. Vanzant's book and was immediately drawn to Her Vison, Knowledge and neverending quest forthe TRUTH. This and all Her books should be read, analysed, synthesized, evaluated andpracticed for everyone! All God's children should be invited to "Seek the TRUTH"

I have been able to put into perspective, how the depths of spirit can be in the palms of our hands. The author takes me from a level of self to a level of spirit and I remain in awe as I see how truth is told to me every day. Prayer has always been important in my family. The altar also plays a focal point in our lives ( my family) as we continue the journey and I enjoy just feeling a sense of oneness that before, I had ignored.
August 2008 Iyanla, thank you so much for the new and updated version of this very powerful book which I treasure. I have owned a copy of your first publication of this book and must admit it has been a very significant part of my development, growth and success on many levels. I have been waiting to give this book as gifts to many of my girlfriends, sisters and just about any woman who needs to reach to the state of acceptance of Spirituality and applying it to every facet of her life. It is so relevant to see the impact that one's Ancestors can have on both guiding one's life paths and offering protection for each person who honors them and includes them in their everyday activities both consciously and even without being aware that they are doing so by simply calling their names etc. I have been able to attest to that completely and will embrace every opportunity to thank those who have paved my path and now I embrace my culture and beginnings with more pride and respect. Your inclusion of "What I Know Now" is very special in keeping us attuned with your/our personal growth and progress. The chapter on Altars once more is very significant and so thank you for including it. Its a true gem and your ultimate best ever!! Mo dupe Ori Egun, ase.

Not only is the book new and improved but it is excellent and I recommend it for all women. It has a CD with it and it is smart and funny. I enjoyed the common sacred sense that it made. If I could afford it I would by all of my friends and family a copy of this book. Thanks Iyanla
