5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect "Go-To" Pocketbook June 3, 2010
Format:Paperback
Since obtaining this book shortly after starting my intern year, I have yet to find a more concise pocket reference for everyday (and some not-so-everyday) problems seen in the primary care and other settings. The book includes chronic and acute issues covering every bodily system, while also devoting time to women's, pediatric, and preventive health. The text is impeccably written and thoroughly referenced throughout, making further reading on each topic an easy task. As one would expect with a pocketbook, the print is quite small but ultimately legible and well worth the sacrifice as the book won't crowd the pockets of your white coat (or your shirt's breast pocket, for that matter). The table of contents is well organized by bodily system and makes finding relevant information painless. I would recommend this pocketbook highly for medical students, interns and residents on primary care rotations, and practicing professionals dealing with primary care issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little book June 10, 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As a family practice NP I'm always reaching for information that is always just outside of my circle of commonly used information. This little book offers succinct bits of information that I usually have to go look for, and it fits in my pocket!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for the elderly.... January 1, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I wish I had paid attention to one of the other reviews. The print is so small in this book, I can barely read it with a magnifying glass! The book is teeny and would fit in a breast pocket of a lab coat, but I would rather pay extra for a book with larger print which fits in a hip pocket. I am sure the content is excellent - Tarascon does produce some very useful books, however PLEASE consider making these books a little bigger!

I gave the book 3 stars because I am sure it is great, BUT the size of the book and print makes it unusable for a lot of people over 40...

I just bought this book, but I am going to sell it back to Amazon...

This is a great little book - yes, very small & compact- perfect for pockets! HOWEVER, print is teeny-tiny! Otherwise info within is good.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but there are better sources January 22, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I got it with some other books from the series, but honestly I can't rate it higher... It gets the job done, but nothing special... The worst for me are the abbreviations - some are very hard to remember.
In general - not bad, but could offer some more useful info!

1.0 out of 5 stars Small Small Writing
I was surprised at the size of the writing, too little for my "old" eyes. The book is little but the wording is extremely tiny.
