I love the Doctor Who Target novelisations. Living in the US, it took a lot of work to collect as many as I did. However, I've never really known much about the publishing of the books and there popularity in the UK and the rest of the world. This book answered those questions. It is also full of excellent photographs and prints from the covers to all of the Target novelisations, as well as some alternate and unused cover illustrations. I really enjoyed reading this and it brought back a lot of memories of rainy days reading Terrance Dicks' novelisations of one of the greates TV shows ever made.

Fascinating and detailed look into the publishing word of the 80s and 90s. The book itself is a very eye catching presentation. I greatly enjoyed the quotes through the book showcasing the various descriptions of the TARDIS dematerializing and the descriptions of the Doctors. The illustrations and images are the real treasures of this book. The interviews with the authors and editors shine a light on a chapter in Doctor Who history that is just as interesting as that of the television program. This is a must for any Doctor Who fanatic.

The Doctor Who Target Book History is an essential purchase for Doctor Who fans worldwide, and indeed anyone who is interested in book publishing in general.This publication is of particular interest to those Doctor Who fans who grew up in the 70s and 80s (like myself) and read the Target range. It offers a fascinating look at how the Target range came to be and the big part that Doctor Who played in its success. It is full of intesting details and reproductions of the entire Doctor Who book covers and also unused book covers.
It's author, David J. Howe, has researched very well and produced a highly readable and polished product that, like the Doctor Who Target book range, is a book that you can cherish!
