Book Description

"It's our God given right to bear arms and hunt any animal." Congressman Jack Howard looked quite distinguished—from the threads of gray at the temples of his carefully cut hair to the designer jeans, cowboy shirt and snakeskin boots he wore. He smiled and blew smoke from the expensive Cuban cigar Obediah Tanner offered.

He and Tanner stood inside Tanner's trophy room, which was elaborately decorated with various stuffed heads. In some cases, the entire, taxidermic animal adorned the spacious room. A very rare white buffalo, mounted on a stand, took up the center of Obediah's favorite space. Obediah often used the buffalo's short horns to hang his Stetsons.

"And you're tellin' me this girl is a unicorn? I thought those were myth." Jack Howard blew a plume of smoke toward the ceiling.

"You'll know the truth of it when her head hangs in your lodge," Tanner said, lifting a glass of whiskey to his lips.

A move from Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, is forced after the Dark Elemaiya locate the paranormal community. Star Cove, Texas, a coastal community, is Ashe's new home. Other enemies crop up, however, in the form of shapeshifter-hunting, drug-running werewolf brothers, Obediah and Ezekiel Tanner. Throw in a trigger-happy congressman and Ashe has his hands full!

5.0 out of 5 stars As if being a teenager wasn't hard enough... May 28, 2012
By Tori
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In the third installment of the series, Ashe Evans has much more to deal with than teenage angst. "Target" picks up approximately three years after "Shadowed," and we see the many changes in the lives of the Cloud Chief community. Approaching his sixteenth birthday Ashe is even more conflicted about his powers and his future than ever.

Target starts with the residents of Cloud Chief being forced to move, because once again the Elemaiya have found Ashe. Things get worse when Wynn is kidnapped by rogue wolves who plan to hunt her for sport. Ashe once again finds himself struggling with his instinct to help and his parents insistence that he keep his powers secret. Constantly being reprimanded for using his abilities, struggling to understand said abilities and good 'ol teenage drama serve to keep Ashe confused and of balance.

Elsewhere both the dark and bright Elemaiya have become aware of Ashe's powers, each wanting him for their own purposes.Caught in between the "Jewels" of the bright Elemaiya and the "Destroyers" of the dark Elemaiya, Ashe is forced to make some tough decisions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book for all age groups! May 28, 2012

Do not miss reading Target, third book of the Legend of the Ir'Indicti series. Target continues the further adventures of Ashe Evans, a young shapeshifter and his family and friends. Ashe's Father is a Vampire and his Mother is a shapeshifter (falcon), together they are a tight family with an abundance of love for each other. Ashe, who will be sixteen in a few days, is still developing different abilities/powers (shapeshifting, mindspeech, misting, relocation, just to name a few)and faces each new revelation with a maturity beyond his years. When all the families in his small community must pick up and move once more to a safer location, Ashe feels responsible since he is the target of the dark hunters. It is amusing as Ashe flips from a responsible almost adult to a teenager with parents who ground him for talking back. Ashe goes from earning the respect of important adults outside his family to being a teenager nervous over taking his driving test while his Mother waits.

Unknowingly, Ashe is the Prize being coveted by the Vampire council, the werewolves and the bright and dark Elemaiya. Ashe wants nothing to do with the Elemaiya, however, he has not yet guessed the consequences of being recruited by the Vampire Council. He already knows his abilities will prevent him from ever living his life as he wants. Many characters from the Blood Destiny series appear in Target as they work together to help Ashe survive. There is more interaction with the Vampire Council than in the prior two books of this series, as Wlodek has now been advised of Ashe's talents. The Vampire Council remains as rigidly inflexible as ever (some things never change). I am looking forward to the next book in the Ir'Indicti series to find out what happens to Ashe next.

Great, I loved the book. Not sure I want to have to write twenty words every time a review is needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars These books are wonderful!!! September 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am so addicted to these books. When I began reading them I read the Blood Destiny series then the Demon Series but skipped the Ir'lndicti series mostly because the book cover showed a young boy. Didn't think I'd be interested; however, after I finished the first God Wars book, I realized that I didn't reconize some of the names. So I started over and read them all including the Ir'lndicti series. I'm anxiously awaiting the fourth God Wars book. I check once a week.

I realize I'm not really committing on this particular book, so I'll say it is a great book because it is, but you have to, really have to start at the beginning and I'm sure you'll become just as addicted as I am.

I really am enjoying all of Connie Suttle books. When I finish a series I'm left with a empty feeling and wish there were more to read.

More About the Author

Connie Suttle is the author of the Blood Destiny series, the Legend of the Ir'Indicti series, the High Demon Series, the God Wars series and the Saa Thalarr series. Other titles are scheduled for release very soon.

Connie earned her MFA from the University of Oklahoma and has taught courses at the university level. Reading (and writing) have been a constant throughout her life.

The author lives in Oklahoma with her patient, long-suffering husband and three cats. Obviously, the cats are not so long-suffering and are certainly not patient.
