This is a great computer desk for compact living spaces.

It's not only so wide it fills the whole keyboard shelf, it's also so deep that the wrist rest hangs over the front end.

I finished building one of these about an hour ago, and I've got my iMac on it right now. Overall, it's a decent unit, but has a few failings that might make you rethink the purchase, even at this reasonable price.

It's solidly built and moves easily, and it's not too hard to put together. The instructions could be better: it's a single 8.5 x 11 double-sided sheet with no words that actually spell out the steps, relying completely on images. This would be okay if the images focused better on the specific tasks instead of showing full-figure shots of the assembly in process.

The parts fit as expected, and the entire assembly took me about 40 minutes. There are pilot holes for most of the screws, but several of the smaller ones have to be tapped directly into the composite boards.

Once it's done, the minuses begin to show up, with the worst problem being the keyboard shelf. It doesn't slide very far out relative to the top of the desk, and it's neither very wide or very deep. I suppose if I was using the standard iMac keyboard, it might not be too bad, though I expect even then the mouse wouldn't fit to the right of the board.

As it is, my keyboard is a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, which I love using, but which is a beastly large animal. It's not only so wide it fills the whole keyboard shelf, it's also so deep that the wrist rest hangs over the front end. This is especially bad since the keyboard has to be placed about an inch forward of the back of the shelf in order to reach all the keys.

As alluded to above, my mouse can't be put to either side of the keyboard, so it has to be placed on the desktop itself.

If you keep your expectations within the bounds of this price range, I think you will be pleased.

(I've uploaded a copy of the instructions to the images)

Pros-
Cheap
Compact
Movable
Computer shelf lets you keep everything as one 'unit' if moving it around a lot

Cons-
Made in China
Range of keyboard tray could be better (although some adjust is available during assembly)
Computer shelf may limit your case options with handle attached

I Have dropped a star as the keyboard tray is the weakest point. It will not stand up to much weight for long.

My apologizes for the camera being too close during assembly, will do better next time.

This is a great computer desk for compact living spaces. As outlined in the first review, the keyboard pullout tray is only big enough for the keyboard, so you have to put the mouse on top of the desk. That's not a big deal as long as you have an LCD monitor, (who doesn't now days?) The wheels are definitely nice to have. There is nothing worse than trying to move a fully loaded desk that doesn't have wheels...

We're trying to make room in our home for a new addition, so we got this smaller, more mobile computer cart for my husband's gaming space, since it is in the now-nursery.

Overall, the desk is fine. It was missing a pair of cams so unfortunately it's not as sturdy as it should be, but it does make his computer much more mobile (we just moved it from one side of the room to the other last night). The keyboard tray doesn't slide out far enough, so if you're a 'hunt and peck' type person, I wouldn't recommend this desk, but for people that are very familiar with a keyboard then it's just fine. The desk area itself is a bit small depending on the screen you have - my husband has a 24" LCD and he has to put the speakers behind the monitor.

Overall for the price it's a decent desk. Note, I paid $39 for the desk, I don't know if it's really worth more.

You will need a power drill for this and if you are looking forward to the nice sliding keyboard thing, let me save you the time and tell you to look else where. The keyboard sliding POS thing sucks so bad certainly the cheapest thing on the desk, very flimsy metal and cheap ball bearing method. Not to mention this thing could break so easy if you weren't careful with it. I would reccomend getting this if you are like me broke. lol. Do know that if you have a huge computer case like I do, the side bar that is in the photo will need to be removed. Other then that if you can get past a slight wobble when typing and a few other flaws then this is an alright deal for 39$. One of the best parts of it for me is the fact that it is small also a HUGE benefit if you are cramped in a dorm or you live in a smaller apartment or you are tight on space.

This was an good desk for the price, didn't have cheap paint, the wood was solid and not light and cheap feeling, the metal was also solid feeling and sounding. The only problem was that the screws for the bottom keyboard panel didn't fit the sides, so I need to find larger screws.

I wish the top was wider because I can't fit speakers on the sides unless I can find some really small diameter speakers. I'm using a Sparco stand to increase space on the desk which is why, which looks ugly by the way, but at least it significantly increases the space you can work with on the desk. If my monitor had speakers, which it doesn't, this wouldn't be a big deal to me, so keep those things in mind when you get this desk, if you decide to try my set up.
