This works exately as described and has no trouble powering a USB device and a laptop. I even put a splitter in the outlet and powered 2 laptops and a phone through it!

This does pretty much what you'd imagine it does. No surprises, good or bad. It fits nicely in the cupholder, which I like very much since I can't stand having weird items sliding around the center console.
One huge plus is the USB charger aspect--because I can charge our phone, iPhone, or iPad with it. That usually leaves us only needing the one outlet it comes with, although it would be perfect if it had two. No overheating issues so far, but I'm not using it with major wattage items like an LCD TV or something.

Received the product in a very timely manner, in good condition, and it does what we wanted. Sits in cup holder just fine and doesn't put so much strain on the power socket in the car.
