5.0 out of 5 stars For the traveling/college man or woman.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is not a accessory for large format (16") notebooks
For people who are buying 16" LCD notebooks this is not the carry case for you. ... I purchased the notebook as well as this carry case. When I received the order I realised that the notebook would not fit in the carry case....

This review is from: Targus CCB1 Notebook Backpack - Black (High Density Nylon) (Personal Computers)
As both a college man and as a man who travels a lot from city to city, this is the best way to carry a notebook computer, a good size text book and several paper notebooks. The compartment for carrying the computer provides straps to secure it, but with one quick motion you can slide the notebook out with no problem. Within the same compartment are pockets perfect for power cables, headphones, floppy disks, writing utensils, calculators, anything.

The second compartment contains three flaps which serve to organize papers, books folders and other various materials one might have, along with two side-by-side pockets large enough to fit CD's into. On the front is a pocket large enough to carry a hefty personal organizer I own and a Nokia cell-phone.

You can't beat the durability either. I dropped the case one time, nothing happened to the computer. It was left in the sun light all day inside my car with the windows up, nothing happened. This holder actually gives you the security to fling the backpack off your shoulders without worrying about the contents. I highly recommend it to anyone who worrys constantly about their equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars lot's of space, good protection, December 30, 2001

This review is from: Targus CCB1 Notebook Backpack - Black (High Density Nylon) (Personal Computers)
I came into the possion of the Targus Notebook Backpack more by coincindence than by choice. My secretary ordered one for me and as it has turned out it was money well spent. It features a pocket for your notebook computer and three additional ones for documents. Furthermore, it has an outside bag for accessories, cables, etc. It is amazing how many documents I have managed to get in together with my notebook. Most importantly, the manufacturing quality of the bag and the padding and protection it offers are excellent. After more than two years of daily use, often on trips to Europe and Asia, it is still in excellent shape and has protected my notebook and accessories very well. If you are looking for a notebook backpack, that provides excellent protection, lot's of additional space and durability, the Targus Notebook Backpack is a good investment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Changing Styles?, June 30, 2003

This is a well-made, attractive backpack suitable for today's business world. I bought this to be able to consolidate what needs to be carried to work. Upon receiving it, I kept all the tags on it and loaded/unloaded the pack over several days and was seriously considering sending it back. It has nice compartments and the computer is well protected. The pack travels well, but I think it is more awkward/heavier than carrying a briefcase style computer bag. I have been using backpacks for various things for thirty years and it seems there is something not quite right with the design. When I grab the shoulder strap to hoist it out of my car, it reminds me that it is a bit of a pain.

3.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of space and pockets, not very comfortable, June 26, 2003

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Targus CCB1 Notebook Backpack - Black (High Density Nylon) (Personal Computers)
The Targus Notebook backpack is as advertised: a backpack optimized to carry a notebook. It features a padded pocket for the laptop and other compartments for all the junk that you need to bring with the laptop.

The only real drawback is that when fully loaded with a 6 to 8 lb. laptop, it's a very uncomfortable backpack. The straps just aren't adjustable enough to fit the wide range of shoulders in our office and most people who travelled with it reported pain and fatigue after a 1/2 hour of use.

This item is okay for short totes, but I wouldn't want to try dashing across an airport with a one or doing something else that requires me to wear it for a long period of time. However, if you must have a backpack for your laptop then this would be the one to get.
