I have actually purchased three of these units over the last year to year and a half for HP Laptops. There are several interchangeable cable ends that you can use which allows this particular model to be used on many different laptops.

The problem is that the ends come off fairly easy. I had one of my users lose the end piece. There needs to be some way of locking it onto the power lead.

Two years ago, I was in Canada on business in the dead of winter, and both of my Dell chargers failed on the same day! I went to Future Shop and found this and it has kept working. Meanwhile, several other Dell chargers I had at home and in office, have failed. The only minor annoyance with this charger is that the tip can come out if you are not careful, but it is not a deal breaker. It has come in handy when I have needed to use other laptops, as it works on a variety of laptops. It is working and it's a survivor. It got me through a Canadian winter that had lots of voltage transients, and it is still working fine. It would be nice if they provided a storage tin for the misc tips. The USB charger has come in handy also.

I had misplaced my Asus G73JW charger. I was in the process of doing a fresh install with a SSD drive, and not being able to find the OEM charger for over a week, I decided to hit Best Buy and picked up this "smart" charger. The charger has worked great for weeks, and until today I have not had any problems with it. However I find when I attempt to do a system rating, the adapter goes dead *every* time. Unfortunately, I have had a problem with the battery (have to get that replaced) so it means lights out. I know it is the charger because the blue LED power indicator actually goes out. My guess is the power being sucked from attempting to run the Windows Experience is too much and it is hitting an internal protector. If I pull the cord and let it set for a while, then it comes back on. Note, I have attempted it three times, and it always dies around the same time.

As the ROG laptops are meant for "power gamers" running insane games like Final Fantasy XIV, COD Super High Massive Grafix version, and so on, I imagine the power requirement of those games will kill the charger also. I didn't even set my Windows Experience video settings to ultimate :( As I just did a clean install, I do not have anything else that is able to test the adapter, nor do I have a working battery to know if it would react different to a battery plugged in.

However, it does run under normal operations and other than running the Windows Experience I have not noticed any problems.

I tried an ebay charger it lasted onlya few days. So I turned to Amazon and after looking at several I picked this one. It has worked well and now several months later is still working. I have old Sony and HP notebooks and it runs both so I saved money with this charger over ones that only run one brand or a few notebooks of a brand. I have 2 HPs, but they use their own size tips.

The charger worked for my computer I bought it for. It didn't appear damaged at all and came in a case that was convenient to carry it in. It also got here on time and I was satisfied. I however bought it advertised as new and doubt it was the original packaging. I do realize it was cheaper than normal but that is no excuse.

Arrived on time, but the charger completely failed after 40 days. I cannot return it now, so I stay without a charger with a dead Sony laptop.
