This product does not work for the iPad. A good wiggle causes the lock to fall out of the iPad. Keep looking friends this will not secure your investment.

The notebook lock works with my Apple Powerbook G4 and my MacBook just fine. The iPod lock surprisingly worked perfectly with my 1st Gen iPhone, but I had a little trouble hooking it into my 4th Gen iPod Photo. I kept playing with it and I got it to work.

I recently bought this lock so that I could keep my computer and ipod secure. I bought Targus because it is a trusted brand and I thought I would get everything that was advertised. The laptop lock is great - secure, easy to use, set your own combo - 5 stars. The ipod lock, however, does not actually stay in the ipod. I have tried it with two different ipods (one old, one new) that are compatible with the lock, and the lock just slips right out of both with only a slight tug. Luckily the set isn't any more expensive than a laptop lock alone, so nothing was really lost, but don't rely on this to keep your ipod safe!

it's a great product extremely easy to use and seems to be very secure also comes with more than the average lock and it's cheaper too! definitely reccomend this product to anyone

We bought this lock combo for my son to use with his laptop in college. He has an HP Pavilion dv6375us. However, the lock did not want to go into the lock slot on the computer. My husband finally got it to go in (with force), but then it didn't want to come out (brilliant, right.) It took a lot of muscle and unplugging the computer and turning it on its side to get good leverage before we were able to get the lock out. Since we did get it out I decided to do it again, and the second time it was a little easier than the first. After about 10 cycles it was still difficult to get out, but I could do it much easier. I don't know if we just ruined the lock slot for any other brand of lock and I don't know if the poor fit was due to the lock or the manufacturing of the computer. I thought the fit was supposed to be fairly standard, but it wasn't in our case. Had this not been mail order and had we tried it out before unpacking in the dorm I may have taken it back to the store and tried another lock before forcing the fit.

As for the operation of the lock, once we were able to work out the fit issue, the instructions for setting and using the lock were very good, and I didn't think that it would be easy to accidentally change the combo like I have heard about from other lock reviews. It seems to be a very secure system, which was my main concern.

I just received the locks and am soooo disappointed that the iPod lock doesn't work with the iPhone 3G as they claim on the specifications sheet. The notebook lock works fine so far (I just got it) and only had to use the spacers so it would fit snugly onto my netbook. When I tried to tell Targus that their information was wrong, all the supervisor could tell me was, "Sorry, we can't promise you anything but I'll tell the corporate office." She said the only thing I could do was return the product (both locks) on my own dime and get a refund. It would cost me more for the shipping of the product than the product is worth! I told her that I didn't have a problem with the notebook lock, it was the wrong information on their spec. sheet about the iPod lock that I have an issue with. She kept telling me that I can return the entire product.

If you really want a notebook lock, just get the notebook cable and forget about the iPod lock. BUT know that customer service with Targus is HORRIBLE! I would recommend trying a company that has better customer service practices!
