5.0 out of 5 stars SPACIOUS AND STURDY BAG FOR 15.6 LAPTOPS!
Fits my 15.6 Compaq laptop perfectly! At first when I saw the width of the bag it looked too small to fit my laptop, but once I really opened the bag up, I was amazed that it had so much space. I'm able to comfortably fit my laptop, my Zalman Notebook cooler (widest part being almost 2 inches), a Targus laptop desk (about 1/2 in.), and the front pocket fits my mouse and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Returned It
Did not appear to be made of durable material that would last more than a few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars SPACIOUS AND STURDY BAG FOR 15.6 LAPTOPS!, August 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Fits my 15.6 Compaq laptop perfectly! At first when I saw the width of the bag it looked too small to fit my laptop, but once I really opened the bag up, I was amazed that it had so much space. I'm able to comfortably fit my laptop, my Zalman Notebook cooler (widest part being almost 2 inches), a Targus laptop desk (about 1/2 in.), and the front pocket fits my mouse and cords! AND there's still about 2 inches left to spare in the main compartment and a side pocket for a drink! On top of being nicely padded and sturdy, it's a good-looking bag! It doesn't even look like a laptop bag! Below are links to the things I was able to fit into the bag:

Zalman Ultra-Quiet Notebook Cooler, Model ZM-NC1000 (Black)
Targus Compact Laptop Desk AWE56US (Black with Gray)
Compaq Presario CQ62-210US Laptop PC

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bag for the price, September 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for a durable, water resistant bag to tote around a rather awkwardly sized laptop, and this bag did not disappoint. Can accommodate basically any notebook I've ever seen, and has ample space for other stuff as well. The organization pockets are pretty good, but the little net-pouch inside sometimes lets small objects fall out if the bag tips over. The shoulder strap is a little awkward sometimes on a bike, but far superior to my old bag. The durability and construction are impressive. It has suffered hard use for nearly a year at my hands and I've yet to see a single frayed edge or stretched seam. Looks good too.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this bag, June 29, 2008
I bought this after trying and returning numerous laptop cases. I absolutely love this bag. It has enough space for my 15.4 laptop, Ac Adapter, Mouse, Dvds and other stuff too. It's light to carry and good looking too. And at $40 the price is right too. Did I mention it's well made too. You simply can't go wrong with this bag. Buy It!

4.0 out of 5 stars 15.4" REALLY????, January 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have a 15.4" Lenovo laptop that I bought this for. Unfortunately, it does not fit in the padded section. I do like this bag and will keep it, but I had to by a sleeve for my laptop and it fits infront of the padded section. If you have a 15.4" laptop, I suggest buying a 17" bag!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop messenger bag, December 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After looking at a lot of messenger bags, my husband settled on this one for the price and for the design. We just received and it's great. It looks better than it does in the picture, more nylon-y and not so leathery. The best aspects about it are the design. When you open the flap, the contents itself don't move, like other bags; meaning the flap just covers the main compartment, it's not part of the compartment itself. There is only one clasp to shut the flap, versus two straps that are cumbersome and take longer to close the bag. The inside has two compartments, perfect for the laptop in one and his textbooks in the other. The strap has a comfort pad for your shoulder. There is also a zippered pocket on the backside of the bag. And the best feature that I love is the cool outer pocket that pulls down to reveal 3-4 pockets on the inside for your phone, cards, and miscellaneous items, plus 3 slots for your pens and another slot for your ID or another card. The very bottom of the bag is reinforced so the bag will rest on the floor and also last. The only minor downside is the slots for your pens/pencils are a little tight so my husband doesn't really use those. He stores his pens in a little pouch that he stores inside the outside pocket. Great buy, and we would buy again in a heartbeat. There is also a tag that it comes with that says limited lifetime warranty, which is an expected plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent laptop case!, March 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I looked at alot of cases before I chose this one. It seemed to have all the things I needed, such as a place for the laptop, and separate area for the cords, a separate area for the mouse and other little compartments for pens, etc. Every thing closes up so I won't loose anything. It doesn't look like I'm carrying a laptop case at all, which I really like. Incognito!! I love buying from Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, virtually waterproof, almost perfect, November 23, 2011
I have carried a Macbook Pro 15.4" and 13.3" Asus UL30A in this bag (sometimes at the same time) daily for 3 years now (since 2008), through thunderstorms, airports, etc. including power adapters and spare batteries, plus phone charger, USB cables, headset and earphones, and occasionally a spare external USB hard drive or two. I often ride a bike with a laptop in the padded compartment and a set of tools (wrenches, mini ratchet set, vise grips, all in a plastic bag) on the other side. Everything always arrives at its destination in the same condition that it left. The bag basically looks the same--inside and out--as it did the day I bought it, despite repeated soakings, heavy use, and many hours in the sun.

Pros:

1) This bag is essentially waterproof (within reason). I have ridden a bike with it in torrential downpours for 20+ minutes without a drop getting inside. I wouldn't recommend doing this on a regular basis, but if you get caught unprepared, this bag should be able to handle it until you can get under cover or throw on a raincoat or poncho.

2) The main compartment and front pouch both have lockable zippers (with your own locks, that is), a big plus when riding through less savory areas or if you don't trust your fellow airplane passengers (I don't, especially on frequent 9-10 hour flights).

3) Easy to remove a laptop for airport security screening. It's not quite as fast as a flip open case, but I like the extra security of my laptop a) staying under cover in the rain (that happens more often than airline screenings) and b) staying inside my bag in a lockable compartment.

My only minor quibbles are:

1) The main compartment zipper sometimes separates. Not a big deal, but I would certainly pay another $5 (or even $10) for a sturdier zipper and zipper pulls with loops that are specifically designed for locks (the current ones lock well enough, though - if someone really wants to get into my bag, they'll just cut it).

2) The strap is not very easy to adjust and the pad could be a bit thicker.

3) The vinyl cladding at the bottom of the case is starting to wear away at one corner, but after 3 years of relatively heavy use, that is the ONLY mark on the outside of the bag.

4) The velco fuzz strap on the laptop compartment is showing some wear from the hook velcro on the laptop compartment, but again, this is a minor issue - all they (or I) have to do is lengthen the fuzzy fabric patch on the strap and this problem wouldn't arise. However, this is the ONLY sign of wear inside of the bag after 3 years of daily use.

Why 5 stars, then? This bag is better designed (in my view) for laptops than other bags that cost 3-4 times as much - I think it would be tough to find a better value in a laptop bag. I'm not sure how long it will last, but if/when it eventually wears out (my guess is at least another 3-4 years), I hope Targus still makes them (especially if they incorporate some of my suggestions here)!

5.0 out of 5 stars great back pack, February 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
it's very comfortable to wear, and has a very different look from most backpacks. i droped my backpack down the stairs once with texbooks and other heavy stuff in it, i was glad to see my laptop was unharmed in the special laptop sleeve. it's also stitched properly. 5 stars is not enough for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best quality for the price, October 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i had been looking for a backpack for everyday use on campus that also provides good protection for my computer. i've had a targus laptop sleeve in the past and has always trusted it. after the delivery of the backpack, i was amazed on how much it could carry and the versatility. from a distance, it is just a plain black backpack but the hints of green lining was a nice touch. it provides the excellent protection i was looking for and then some. comparing it to another backpack, this one saved me a lot of money. i only paid about 35 dollars with shipping and i do not regret it one bit. i would recommend this to anyone!!!
