Great Quality, Great Capacity, Comfortable, Tad on the Big Side,
This review is from: Targus KOS400 15 Universal Top Loading Notebook Case (Personal Computers)
All in all, this is a great bag. As an attorney who travels and must carry much with me when I do, this bag is perfect for when I have my computer, accessories, laptop, and personal items. The Good: -Very well designed strap. This thing was weighed down quite considerably but was still comfortable for the 1/2 mile walk from my bus to the office. And the bag felt great while I was running with it to catch the aforementioned bus. -Looks very professional -Remarkable amount of space. I was able to fit my Dell XPS M140 in this bag in its Sumdex sleeve (see more about that below), 16 legal sized folders, 2 magazines, a 1 inch stack of papers, a legal sized notepad, a Pocket PC, a wallet, car keys with fobs, house keys, a spare 9 cell battery, wireless mouse, 2 pens, 1 hi-lighter, a Dell DJ Ditty, an Apple Ipod, an asthma inhaler, a thin datebook, Chapstick, a Hostess apple pie, a large cell phone, and still had room for more. And the apple pie made it to its destination in one piece..... -Excellent computer protection. This is a Targus bag so you know the padding and design is adequate to protect the computer -Top loading design for easy access to the computer -Luggage strap on the back -4 compartments with a thin zippered pouch on the back. The Bad: -The compartment is designed for computers with monitors that are bigger than 14.1". The movement I witnessed my computer making was so disturbing that I purchased a Sumdex computer sleeve for added protection. With the sleeve, the fit is perfect. -The case itself is rather inflexible so if you have a downright obscene amount of things to carry, your squishing options are limited. The upside is that the rigidity appears to protect the contents of the bag. Hence the undamaged apple pie. The Ugly: -This bag is on the big side, but if you want to carry a lot of stuff, you can't really get around this. -If you are looking for a computer bag that doesn't look like a computer bag, this is not for you. The only thing keeping this bag from the 5th star is that the computer compartment could have been designed to secure smaller laptops more safely and effectively. If the elastic belt that goes over the top of the laptop had been installed 2 inches lower and more velcro put on said belt, I would not have had to purchase the protective sleeve.

This case made the perfect gift for my brother, a fast-rising star at his new position with a marketing firm. I wanted a smart, functional computer tote to show him my pride for his success-the reaction he displayed confirmed my own! thank you.

I liked many features of this bag but there were signs of excessive wear on certain parts after three months of use.In particular, the part that was damaged was where the metal end of the strap rubs against the edge of the bag on both sides when you actually wear it on your shoulder.

Buckles Rub Against Side, Causing Premature Wear,

The buckles rub against the side of the bag and cause premature wear. I have owned this for five month and do not recommend this bag. Targus is a good brand but this bag is not good. I'd look at the KOS301, which is the following release after this (KOS300).
