4.0 out of 5 stars Good mouse - compact and easy to tote around!
I bought this mouse more than two years ago and I really like it! I love that it's rechargeable and that you just plug in a USB cord to recharge while you're using it - it doesn't even disrupt your process. The down side is that you're using up an additional USB port (2 total) while charging, but I usually don't find it to be a problem for my purposes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Okay mouse, but not durable
I purchased this mouse in July 2007. I use it nearly every day and it was working well for me. 1.0 out of 5 stars Okay mouse, but not durable, February 11, 2008

I purchased this mouse in July 2007. I use it nearly every day and it was working well for me. Although, I didn't like that to charge the device you had to use two USB ports -- one to charge and one for the antenna since the charger cable doesn't allow you to use the mouse as a "traditional" mouse.

In mid-Jan 2008, I started having some problems with intermittent non-response. The USB adapter would blink like it was receiving the movement from the mouse, but my pointer wouldn't move. Jiggling the USB device would resolve this. In late Jan, it completely quit working. I took it apart and discovered two of the four wires (one on each side) connecting the chip to the USB device were no longer connected. They had not become unplugged, they had broken. The remaining two wires are showing signs of breaking soon.

These wore down from normal, every day usage. There was no abuse as I am careful with my equipment to extend it's life.

I'm now back on the market looking for a wireless mouse that will last longer than 7 months.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the remote connector (or receiver thing-a-magig - I'm sooo not hip on the techno lingo) has stopped working. It's reacting like there's a short in it... it's just like the others are complaining about that the wires get disconnected because it flips up and down. That's a bummer to me, but I also think that working for 2 years before dying is pretty good - especially for the price (it lasted longer than cell phones do these days)! I think I'll buy another one because it was a pretty good mouse while it lasted and the price is right!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the money, May 8, 2010

I bought this mouse after literally curb stomping my other one.
It's a great mouse for the price. It fits well in your hand, quiet clicking, and has all the range you should need for a wireless mouse.
The only problem i have with it is when you hold both of the right and left buttons down, like you would in online gaming, the mouse cuts off. Maybe it's just my mouse but it's highly annoying for gaming. Other than that, it's a great purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very practical mouse, November 23, 2007
This review is from: Targus Notebook Wireless Rechargeable Optical Mouse (Electronics)
I got this mouse because it was rechargeable and vista ready. It dosen't stay charged for only about 8 hours but does have a on and off button, and you can use it as it charges. The only down fall is the bulky usb transmitter, but thats okay at least I will not have to have to replace the batteries every week.

What a hassle free mouse to have. No more changing batteries and all. When I want to use my laptop I turn it on then the mouse and I'm ready to go. I spend hours playing games now that I am retired and I used to have to change batteries at least once a week.

Happy in Retirement....

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst mouse I've ever owned...so far., July 13, 2008

Like one of the other reviewers, I bought two of these on sale, thinking it would be a great backup just in case I needed an extra for the 5 other computers I own. My problems began right out of the box with this thing. After charging it for over eight hours (essentially keeping both the adapter and mouse plugged into my MacBook Pro overnight while in sleep mode), I figured I was good to go. Using it for about 15 minutes proved otherwise. Not only is the wireless adapter oversized and clunky, the mouse it meant for smaller hands than mine. As a person just a few inches over 6' tall, I don't consider my hands to be extraordinarily big. Compared to other mice I have owned, it wasn't the best feel ergonomically using the device. Granted, it feels better than the original, hand-crippling iMac circular yo-yo mouse, but not as comfortable as others. After perusing the support forums of targus for an hour yesterday, I discovered many issues relating to poor performance experienced by other owners. After trying several of their recommended solutions with no results, I contacted the manufacturer directly with my problem. I'm going to try swapping the rechargeable batteries with regular batteries to see if that works. I consider this device DOA since it has only worked for a total of 30 minutes since I bought it after numerous tries. I'll give my other a try as well if this just doesn't work.

To summarize, my main problems are:
1) Too much cabling (2 USB cords included in a little felt carrying case is unnecessary clutter in my laptop travel bag)
2) Poor functionality (intermittent problems I have yet to resolve)
3) Battery charge problem (Still looking into this)
4) Oversized, clunky adapter
5) Ergonomics are better suited for smaller hands

For something as simple as a mouse, a user shouldn't have to do too many things to get it to work. I had a Logitech mouse prior to this that never needed charging, had a tiny USB adapter, and felt comfortable. It only recently stopped working after about 2 years. After seeing the hoops I've had to jump through with this one, I may end up having to switch back. Although painful to use, at least my iMac mouse worked. This thing hasn't put in a full days work yet.
