I got this from MidWest Notebooks for $21.99, and then I hardwired and mounted it into the dash of my Toyota pickup. I selected this item because it is very compact relative to other 150W inverters and I was able to mount it where the ash tray used to be. I can hear it shut down when I turn off the power, a "bzzzzzzew" noise in my stereo, but it doesn't make any noise otherwise. I haven't used it a lot so I don't know if heat buildup will be an issue.
