This security baseplate was easy to install and seems adequate to deter theft. I installed it at my rental condo to have a laptop computer for my guests to use. It provided the locking cord increased security since I didn't have a secure place to run the cord through. A determined person could steal this computer but is not likely to go to the extra trouble.

After waiting for the shipment, verify that the model is not Targus Security Anchor Base Plate PA400P, is a copy of lower quality and the thickness of the hook is much thinner, not providing the same quality and safety of TARGUS, should update the photo the product they offer and waiting for the same product in the picture.
