This seems like a very nice, durable lock. The only problem I had is that I didn't check my laptop thoroughly before I bought the lock, so when I tried to put it in I found that my video port didn't have a place for the two screws-- making it useless. But if you have a hole for screws on either side of your video port, definitely buy.
I needed to secure the TV I bought for my Son's dorm. The regular laptop locks don't work for a TV because they don't have the place to connect it. This seemed like the only choice I had and it worked perfectly. On top of that, this lock was cheaper then most of the other locks.
Unlike others in this review, I was able to set the combination to a new number without any problems. Just make sure that you use one of those small screw drivers to push the screw in and then turn it.
It attaches to a 15-pin VGA connector. Easy to put on but the instruction came with mine on changing the combination might have the changeable and set position stated in reverse. Should stop a casual thief. Don't think any of the cables can stop a determined thief (with a cable cutter for example) anyway.
