To start with, I'm giving this five stars because it's a quality sleeve -- it has plenty of padding and seems to be well constructed.

Now the purpose of this review is to detail the fit for a Lenovo X220 + 6-cell battery. I've spent some time trying to find a good sleeve for this laptop, but it's a little tough due to its non-standard size (12.5" and it is thicker than netbooks/most laptops in this category). So, does this Targus do the trick? Well, it does fit, but the fit is VERY snug. That may be good or bad for you depending on how you see it. On the upside, it is definitely not going to be sliding around at all, and there is certainly no wasted space in terms of footprint of the overall package (although a sleeve with less padding would likely shave off fractions of an inch in every direction). On the downside, when I say it is very snug, I mean you cannot quickly slide it in and zip. You need to push it into the sleeve and zip around the two corners carefully. Basically, if the laptop was a little bit bigger or the sleeve a little bit smaller, it wouldn't zip at all. What this ends up meaning is removing/inserting the laptop will take a little bit longer -- not too much, and it is not likely to become annoying unless you're constantly taking it out and putting it back in again. In terms of protection, I doubt there is much of any lost due to the tight fit. If you want to be real careful when zipping it up you can even do it such that the silver border trim can still fully wrap around the corners of the laptop.

Tip: If you do get this for your X220, put the battery side in first that way you are zipping around the thinner edge of the laptop. It does make zipping easier.

Bottom line: Get this for your X220 if the tight fit will not bother you.

The sleeve is great! It's well padded, well designed, streamlined, soft, durable, and aesthetically pleasing. The dimensions as listed in the product description, however, are not accurate. My laptop (X220i, including the 9 cell battery) measures 12" x 8 3/4" and does not fit. I'm returning this and hoping that Targus makes a 13" A7 sleeve.

This sleeve fits my Lenovo X200 with 6-cell battery snugly. By snugly I mean the laptop does not slide into the sleeve. Because the battery end is thicker, I have to push it in as much as possible to have more room to zip-up. But overall I like snug fit better than loose fit.

One thing worth noting is that this A7 12inch sleeve is a slightly better fit than Targus Neoprene Slipskin Peel Netbook Slip Case with Accessory Pocket Designed to Protect up to 12-Inch Widescreen Netbooks TSS125US (Black with Yellow), because that one is just way too tight.

Love the tri-cell padding, makes me feel the laptop is well protected.

I bought this for my wifes Lenovo X201 12.1" laptop. It fits well and is very snug. Pretty tight fit but I personally prefer a snug fit over a loose fit when it comes to laptops. Recommended.

As others have said, this does fit a ThinkPad X220 pretty well. And it's pretty thick, so your laptop will be well-protected. However, if you're only looking for a thin neoprene sleeve to protect your ThinkPad while it's in your backpack or briefcase, this Targus case may be overkill. This case is much thicker than I need, but I'll use it until I can find something thinner. (Unfortunately, there's really nothing else out there for an X220 yet.)

I bought this for my Lenovo X220 with six cell battery. It is definitely a snug fit, but this isn't a bad thing. There's tons of thick padding on the front and back, but not a whole lot around the perimeter and corners, which is a little disappointing. Overall, it seems very durable and extremely well made. I give it five stars since it's a good fit for my laptop.

I searched all over for a sleeve that would fit my Lenovo x220 with the 6 cell battery, as the laptop is an odd size, bigger than a netbook and smaller than a 13 inch laptop. Everything I tried was way too big -- which defeated the point of having such a small laptop. This case is the answer. Yes, the fit is very snug -- it takes just a bit of wriggling to get my laptop in. But not more than an extra few seconds. The reward is a really high quality case that fits perfectly and doesn't turn my small laptop into a ginormous beast. This thing is really nicely padded -- feels like much better protection than your a standard neoprene sleeve.

This fits perfectly around my 12.1" Asus 1215B, and it is padded beyond anything I've seen of this type.

This is an excellent sleeve and fits snugly, and it assures me my netbook won't get damaged. Of course, this is just padding, I don't think it'll survive a fall or anything, but that's not its purpose.

What can you say about a laptop sleeve? It works period. Very high build quality i.e. nice stitching, strong and smooth zipper function, plenty of lateral padding, rigid spine along the thin edge. Targus payed a lot of attention to detail in the design. For instance, the zipper is reversed; what I mean is that the smooth edge in on the outside of the sleeve to keep it from catching on anything when you put the sleeve in a bag and to prevent the teeth of the zipper from pressing against the laptop when you shove it in the sleeve in a hurry. Now I know what your thinking, "if the rough side is on the inside of the sleeve those teeth are going to scratch my computer while its in the sleeve." This is not true though, thick rim padding along the inside of the sleeve prevent any contact by the computer with any surface other than the soft nylon like padding material inside the sleeve.
All in all Great Product. I have been using for 6 months now and my computer sill looks new on the outside.
Also of note: the description of the sleeve seems to imply that this sleeve is for netbooks. its 12 in size fits most standard tablet PCs
