I searched the proverbial High and Low for a computer backpack that wouldn't let my stuff get wet in the rain. Most backpacks have exposed nylon zippers where more water than you'd think comes through between the teeth. I found a couple of camping backpacks with optional rain covers but not much designed to hold a laptop and keep out the elements, until this one. When it rains in Chicago, the wind blows it in every direction including under your umbrella. Walking to and from the train station in the rain soaked the contents of my old computer backpack, despite the umbrella. The Targus Monogram has an elastic-rimmed rain cover that stows completely out of the way when not needed and has very effectively kept the entire pack dry in wet weather. As far as everyday concerns, the pack and straps are shaped and padded well, and I am surprised how much lighter it hefts than my old computer backpack. The compartments are adequate but not especially roomy. It holds just enough of my work-in-progress papers and office-on-my-back needs (I was tired of being pack-mule boy anyway), a book to read, and a compact umbrella in the exterior sleeve they provide for a water bottle.

The pictures on the Amazon site are good and helped convice me this would do the job. I try to buy only what lasts and this seems fairly durable.

I took a look at a lot of laptop backpacks online and chose this one due to the great price offered by the seller. I am very pleased with the product. It is bigger/wider than I thought it would be, which might not appeal to a lot of smaller people, such as myself. However, I got the pack so I wouldn't have to carry so many bags between work and home, and the size of the bag allows me to carry client files along with the computer, so, it's all good.

The bag is durable, has great size & it has various pockets for a lot of things! I carry my 15 inch laptop & a number of college books w/ a lot of comfort & no back pain!!

The quality of construction and the price are certainly decent, but I was definitely disappointed by how much pain I was in after I carried my laptop around for a full day. It seems the bag is made for person with an average to slightly wide set of shoulders, and mine are more narrow. This means the bag doesn't sit properly on my frame. It's not possible to adjust the distance between the shoulder straps, so there's really nothing I can do to correct the situation. I really liked my old bag (made by Sumdex) a lot better.

When I bought the backpack I was super excited because the price I got on Amazon was ridiculously awesome for such a product. When I received it in the mail..I was kind of upset because I am a female and it seemed SO large against my body type like I'm an compete nerd 24/7. However, after I started putting things in there it loosened up and I don't even care about that anymore because it isss awesome and it makes me WANT to be that nerd! It securely holds my Mac with a strap that secures it and lots of cushioning. There are many pockets that allow you to put several things, there is soo much attention to detail. They even provide you with a protector for your backpack when it rains! It's a cover that is zipped in the back that you can simply pull out and stretch it over your backpack! Who else does this???

I use this backpack for last three years. I use with laptop and without a laptop. It's very good organized - you can easily find necessary thing. Back is stay dry when you wear this backpack - i check it in AZ and FL. Just one CONS - be careful with mesh pockets - if you have something sharp you can damage it.
