I was very excited to find a quality copy of my favorite childhood book that had been lost years ago. The illustrations in this book are beautiful but my favorite part of the story is saying the sound that tofu makes sloshing around in the pan. The story has a great moral - honesty is the best policy!
I was very pleased with my purchase!

One of the best books for international learning and plain old good moral values. My favorite as a child, just wish mom didn't give away all my own stuff when I was in college.

I love this book! My parents read it to me when I was little, and now I'm studying abroad in Japan, buying tofu from the guy who walks around pushing a cart and making an almost "pu pu" sound!

Beautiful book with colorful illustrations. I recall reading this book when I was very young, it was one of my favorites.

After receiving too much change from is family's long time tofu vendor, Taro must decide to either return the found money or keep it for himself. The decision is made quickly, but the lesson is felt long after his quandary.

Beautiful, soft illustrations made in what I believe is charcoal; with a very simple story of a boy at a moral crossroad.

What a warm book indeed. My parents read it to me nearly 25 years ago. I still hold this treasure for my own son.
