Evelin Burger and Johannes Fieburg’s insightful study of tarot has always helped readers reach remarkable new levels of understanding—and now, it features full-color images throughout. Their extraordinary approach dispenses with cookbook classifications that assign a single, fixed meaning to each card; instead, you learn how to use your own intuition to develop individualized interpretations. Select from 15 layouts, from the simplest 3-card spread to special ones for decision making and fulfilling your ultimate desire. A visual comparison of the symbolism used in each card of the three major decks comes accompanied by a full-page analysis of each of the 78 cards.
I'm new to tarot reading and this book was very informative and insightful for me. It goes through the basic fundamentals of tarot reading, including pictures of the different (types of) cards and their meanings/interpretations. I found the short description of the 200-year old history of tarot cards very interesting, as well as the aspects of tarot in other forms of astrology. Tarot Basics also includes 15 different lay-outs for tarot readings from the simplest to the more insightful types and includes interpretations/analysis for all of the 78 cards in a tarot deck. Reading this book made me want to run out and buy my own deck of cards and start conducting my own readings! Great for a beginner like me. Enjoy!

This has to be one of the nicest and most attractive Tarot card/book sets available, and features beautiful color graphics & packaging. The only defect for me(personaly)is the card images themselves- they are done in a sort of primative, kindergarden-art type rendering(similar to the Barnes&Noble Tarot set by Johnthan Dee). I believe it actually could have been perfect if the card images were rendered in a more relistic vein, or simply printed copies of the classic "Marseille" deck. Even the card backs are beautifully printed to match graphic patterns on the package. Just feel it could have possibly been better, but still it's a very nice set. Available at some Barnes&Noble bookstores.

I recommend Tarot Basics definitely for the Beginning Tarot Initiate for its clarity of meanings for each of the major/minor arcana cards and the three different decks in the book. This actually gives the Beginner first sensitivity to each of the images of each of the decks. 3 of the decks are Crowley's Book Of Thoth;Rider-Waite; and The Marseilles decks(one is in the book and the other is the 78 card deck in the set which is a collage interpretation of this classic deck.) I have tested the deck provided as I am very familiar with Marseilles Deck by 1000's of readings to be very comfotable with this deck in at least 4 spreads..
